The posting

Als AI Engineer ben je verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerpen, bouwen en integreren van AI-functionaliteit. Je vertaalt use cases naar bruikbare en veilige AI-oplossingen die in productie kunnen functioneren en aansluiten op bestaande systemen, databronnen en workflows. Je focust op de technische realisatie van AI-use cases binnen een afgesproken architectuur en in samenwerking met relevante teams. Je bepaalt dus niet de organisatiebrede AI-roadmap, maar zorgt wel voor een sterke implementatie van concrete oplossingen.

Belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden:

  • AI-use cases implementeren — Functionele noden vertalen naar concrete AI-oplossingen (intelligente assistentie, documentverwerking, samenvatting, extractie, classificatie, kennisontsluiting) op basis van generative AI, LLM's en retrieval/grounding, met voorkeur voor open-source en aandacht voor betrouwbaarheid, veiligheid en gebruikservaring.
  • Integratie met systemen en processen — Integraties ontwerpen en implementeren tussen AI-componenten en interne applicaties, API's, databronnen en documentstromen, robuust ingebed in bestaande workflows, met toegangsbeheer, auditing en input/output-validatie.
  • Evaluatie en kwaliteitsborging — Evaluaties, testscenario's en reviewflows opzetten met oog voor relevantie, nauwkeurigheid, grounding en veiligheid, en prompts, retrieval-logica en output-structuren verbeteren op basis van resultaten.
  • Productionisering en monitoring — POC's vertalen naar productieklare AI-services met deployment-aanpak en versiebeheer, en monitoring/observability voorzien (logging, traces, latency, foutpercentages, gebruik, inferentiekosten) om problemen tijdig te signaleren en verbeteren.
  • Samenwerking en kennisdeling — Afstemmen met developers, architecten, product owners, security en business stakeholders, goede praktijken en documentatie verzorgen, en kennis delen rond het verantwoord en effectief inzetten van AI.

Profiel

Je beschikt over een Bachelor of Master in de Informatica of je kan gelijkwaardige ervaring aantonen. Je hebt minimum 2 jaar ervaring in een vergelijkbare rol.

Je hebt een sterke expertise in:

  • Python en backend- of integratieservices
  • SQL en dataverwerking in productiecontext
  • API’s, SDK’s en systeemintegraties (incl. C#/.NET)
  • Generative AI en LLM-toepassingen (incl. retrieval/grounding en prompt flows)
  • Documentverwerking, informatie-extractie, classificatie en kennisontsluiting
  • Integratie van AI-oplossingen in applicaties en (on-premise) omgevingen
  • Logging, tracing, monitoring en observability voor AI-toepassingen
  • CI/CD, versiebeheer en deployment van AI-services
  • Best practices rond algoritmische regulering

Ervaring met containerisatie, cloud services of platformdiensten voor AI, vector databases, embeddings en retrieval-patterns, evaluatieframeworks, structured outputs en document intelligence-oplossingen is een pluspunt.

Je bent resultaatgericht en pragmatisch: je bent in staat om AI-oplossingen om te zetten naar bruikbare en betrouwbare productiefunctionaliteit.

Je beschikt over een sterk analytisch en systematisch denkvermogen, met oog voor trade-offs, risico’s en haalbaarheid.

Je neemt ownership over technische realisaties binnen toegewezen use cases of componenten.

Je hebt een bewustzijn van kwesties op het gebied van naleving, ethiek en governance van AI-systemen, met name gezien de specifieke risico’s van LLM’s (hallucinaties, vooringenomenheid, datalekken).
