Wij zijn op zoek naar een basisarts met duidelijke ambitie voor de Keel-, Neus- en Oorheelkunde (KNO) die wetenschappelijk onderzoek wil combineren met klinische ontwikkeling. Deze positie maakt deel uit van een Academisch Fonds-traject binnen het Maastricht Universitair Medisch Centrum (MUMC+) en biedt een doorlopend academisch-klinisch ontwikkeltraject: een promotietraject van circa 38-40 maanden, gecombineerd met parttime klinische werkzaamheden als ANIOS KNO, met daarnaast bij goed functioneren uitzicht op een aansluitende opleidingsplaats als AIOS KNO. Het promotieonderzoek richt zich op het verbeteren en personaliseren van de follow-up van patiënten die curatief zijn behandeld voor een plaveiselcelcarcinoom van het hoofd-halsgebied. Centraal staat de vraag hoe patiënten na behandeling beter kunnen worden gevolgd, met aandacht voor zowel het tijdig herkennen van een recidief als de impact van follow-up op het welzijn en de kwaliteit van leven van patiënten. Binnen het project wordt een prospectieve klinische studie uitgevoerd waarin een meer actieve en gepersonaliseerde follow-upstrategie wordt onderzocht. Daarbij worden klinische, patiëntgerapporteerde en biologische informatie gecombineerd. Naast patiëntgerichte uitkomsten worden onder andere de detectie en behandelbaarheid van recidieven, diagnostische prestaties, zorggebruik en de haalbaarheid van de follow-upstrategie geëvalueerd.
