Archieven vertellen het verhaal van onze stad en regio. Ze laten zien hoe Nijmegen en omliggende gemeenten zich door de eeuwen heen hebben ontwikkeld. Daarom zijn goede archieven belangrijk: ze vormen ons publieke geheugen en zorgen ervoor dat informatie ook voor toekomstige generaties beschikbaar blijft. Bij het Regionaal Archief Nijmegen (RAN) bewaren en beheren we historische archieven van Nijmegen en acht andere gemeenten in de regio. Van middeleeuwse oorkonden tot digitale bestanden. In onze archiefbewaarplaats is ruimte voor maar liefst 16 kilometer aan papieren archieven. Daarnaast hebben we een e-depot voor digitale archieven. We zorgen ervoor dat deze collecties betrouwbaar, goed geordend en toegankelijk zijn en zoveel mogelijk worden gebruikt. Online en in onze studiezaal. Als archivaris inventarisatie draag jij hier direct aan bij. Je zorgt ervoor dat mensen hun weg kunnen vinden in onze archieven en dat waardevolle informatie behouden blijft. Wat ga je doen? Jij zorgt er samen met collega's voor dat archieven goed worden bewaard, logisch zijn geordend en vooral: betrouwbaar en toegankelijk zijn. Je werkt met overheidsarchieven en particuliere archieven, waarbij de nadruk ligt op overheidsarchieven. Dat maakt je werk afwisselend. De ene keer werk je met eeuwenoude, handgeschreven documenten, de andere keer met digitale of deels digitale archieven. Je houdt je onder andere bezig met: - Het ordenen en beschrijven van grote en kleine archieven, zodat gebruikers snel kunnen vinden wat ze zoeken; - Het beoordelen welke informatie waardevol i...
