Jouw nieuwe baan Binnen het multidisciplinaire behandelteam vervul je als leefstijlarts / obesitasarts een centrale medische rol. Na een zorgvuldige inwerkperiode verdiep je jouw kennis via scholing, overleg en uitwisseling met collega's. Tijdens intakes bespreek je samen met cliënten welke behandeling het beste past. Je beoordeelt de medische situatie, interpreteert labwaarden en bespreekt relevante uitslagen. Medicatie voorschrijven en de werking daarvan volgen horen eveneens bij jouw taken. Gedurende een behandeltraject van 6 maanden volg je de medische ontwikkeling nauwgezet. Je bewaakt de voortgang, stuurt bij waar nodig en blijft het vaste medische aanspreekpunt. Daarbij staat persoonlijke aandacht centraal, met ruimte voor jouw eigen professionele oordeel. Een deel van jouw werk vindt plaats binnen een aparte divisie voor mensen die niet in aanmerking komen voor verzekerde zorg. Ook cliënten voor wie een bariatrische ingreep nog te ingrijpend voelt, vinden hier een passend alternatief. Binnen deze divisie ontmoet je mensen met obesitas die vaak al meerdere afvalpogingen achter de rug hebben. Zij kiezen onder andere uit behandeling met medicatie, een inslikbare maagballon of een combinatie daarvan. Deze behandelingen vallen buiten de vergoeding van zorgverzekeraars. Tijdens de intake breng je de medische situatie in kaart en bespreek je de beschikbare behandelvormen. Vervolgens adviseer je de cliënt over een passende route. Daarna verzorg je de medische controles, schrijf je medicatie voor en volg je de gezondheid gedurend...
