Copy Link € 3.724 - € 5.867 36 uur per week Locatie VUmc Opleiding Reageer tot en met: 21 oktober 2026 Wat ga je onderzoeken? De ziekte van Alzheimer is de meest voorkomende oorzaak van dementie. De ziekte wordt gekenmerkt door de ophoping van amyloïde en tau-eiwitten in de hersenen. Toch verloopt de ziekte niet bij iedere patiënt hetzelfde. Op basis van proteomicsanalyses in het hersenvocht hebben we recent vijf verschillende biologische subtypen van de ziekte van Alzheimer ontdekt. Deze subtypen verschillen in de onderliggende biologische processen die leiden tot amyloïdestapeling. Ook verschillen ze in de snelheid waarmee cognitieve klachten ontstaan en toenemen. Als arts-onderzoeker onderzoek je binnen dit project of deze subtypen ook verschillend reageren op behandelingen die de ziekteprogressie proberen te vertragen, zoals anti-amyloïde behandelingen. Je brengt de biologische kenmerken van de verschillende subtypen verder in kaart en onderzoekt hoe deze samenhangen met behandelresultaten. Het uiteindelijke doel is om beter te begrijpen welke behandeling het beste past bij welke patiënt. Zo draag je bij aan een meer persoonlijke behandeling van de ziekte van Alzheimer.
