Functie inhoud Het schildkliercentrum richt zich onder meer op poliklinische zorg en onderzoek bij mensen met de ziekte van Graves. De huidige behandelingen zijn vaak of niet effectief of gaan gepaard met veel bijwerkingen. Jij hebt de unieke mogelijkheid een belangrijke rol te spelen in een Fase 1 geneesmiddelen onderzoek naar een nieuwe behandeling van de ziekte van Graves, waarbij je in een multidisciplinair team samenwerkt. Daarbij heb je contact met de verwijzende artsen uit 15 omliggende ziekenhuizen, informeer je patiënten over het onderzoek en zorg je voor de medische begeleiding tijdens het onderzoek op de polikliniek en de afdeling. Daarnaast zal je onderzoek doen naar nieuwe manieren om de ziekte van Graves en andere schildklierziekten te diagnosticeren en behandelen, bijv. met behulp van genetische markers. Samengevat een veelzijdig en uitdagend promotietraject! Werkomgeving Het Schildkliercentrum van het Erasmus MC heeft decennialange ervaring in zorg en onderzoek, en is internationaal erkend voor haar expertise. Het onderzoek binnen het Schildkliercentrum varieert van fundamenteel onderzoek, epidemiologie en genetica tot klinisch onderzoek en trials. Onze ambitie is om impact te creëren: impact voor patiënten, impact op wetenschap. Je werkt in een levendig en betrokken team van onderzoekers en clinici, met wekelijkse polikliniek en onderzoeksbesprekingen. Het onderzoeksteam bestaat uit circa 15 promovendi en 4 senior onderzoekers. Het klinische team bestaat uit 4 schildklierartsen en een verpleegkundig specialist. Er is volop ruimte voor persoonlijke ontwikkeling via intensieve begeleiding en onderwijs. Daarnaast worden er regelmatig gezellige activiteiten georganiseerd.
