At the University of Klagenfurt the following position will be filled at the Department of Society, Knowledge and Politics at the Faculty of Social Sciences with an anticipated starting date of April 1, 2027: 1 Assistant Professor (postdoc) with QA option (tenure track) (all genders welcome) - Kennung 527/26 at the intersection of science and technology studies and migration research

Level of employment: 100 % (40 hours/week)

Minimum salary: € 70,200.20 per annum (gross); classification according to collective agreement: B1 lit.b

Limited to: 6 years (with the option of transitioning to a permanent contract)

Your responsibilities - what awaits you:

º independent research

º independent teaching using established and innovative methods (e.g., digital teaching)

º supervision of students

º participation in organisational and administrative tasks and in quality assurance measures

º contribution to expanding the international scientific and cultural contacts of the organisational unit

Your profile:

º Completed doctoral studies in a relevant subject area (e.g., science and technology studies, sociology), completed with good results at a domestic or foreign university

º Experience in the acquisition and running of highly competitive third-party funded projects of a significant volume

º Strong publication record at the intersection of science and technology studies and migration research

º International research experience and strong international network

º Profound knowledge on the intersections of science and technology studies, critical migration/border studies, and social movements scholarship

º Excellent scientific communication and dissemination skills

º Didactic competence and proven successful teaching experience

º Excellent spoken and written English

This distinguishes you additionally:

º Interdisciplinary experience and competence

º Gender mainstreaming and diversity management skills

º Leadership and teamwork skills

º Willingness to learn German within two years
