De Universiteit Gent telt 11 faculteiten en meer dan 100 vakgroepen, die in elk van de wetenschappelijke disciplines hoogstaande en door onderzoek ondersteunde opleidingen aanbieden.

  • Je besteedt minimum 50% van uw opdracht aan wetenschappelijk onderzoek in het kader van de voorbereiding van een doctoraatsproefschrift. Hiervoor sluit je aan binnen de onderzoeksgroep MICT (www.ugent.be/ps/communicatiewetenschappen/nl/onderzoeksgroepen)
  • Je levert bijstand bij het onderwijs van de vakgroep in het domein van de communicatiewetenschappen. Meer specifiek geef je ondersteuning in de leerlijn nieuwe media en maatschappij, bij opleidingsonderdelen zoals bv. "Innovatie-onderzoek", "Innovatie onderzoek: Challenges", en "New Media Studies". De onderwijsactiviteiten gaan door op de campus van UGent. Ook ondersteuning bij algemene onderwijsactiviteiten zoals examentoezichten, examens verbeteren, lezen/evalueren van masterproeven behoort tot het takenpakket.
  • Via on-the-job training (o.m. het doornemen van wetenschappelijke publicaties, gesprekken met collega's, het volgen van seminaries) bouw je een kennis op rond het topic van je onderzoek en onderzoekmethodologie.
  • Je publiceert wetenschappelijke artikelen en presenteert op wetenschappelijke congressen die verband houden met het onderzoeksproject.
  • Je neemt deel aan de de interne en externe dienstverlening van de vakgroep (bv. all-round taakjes zoals programmering en checken van vragenlijsten, organiseren van media in perspectief, alumni-events, aanwezigheid op Sid-ins,…).
  • Je bent houder van een diploma van Master in de sociale of humane wetenschappen, bij voorkeur Communicatiewetenschappen (en specifiek nieuwe media en maatschappij). Voor diploma's behaald buiten de Europese Unie dient een gelijkwaardigheidsattest van NARIC voorgelegd te worden. Aan de diplomavoorwaarden moet voldaan zijn op datum van aanstelling.
  • Je spreekt vlot Nederlands, waardoor je meteen inzetbaar in het (Nederlandstalige) onderwijs
  • Je hebt een goede kennis van de Engelse taal: zowel mondeling als schriftelijk.
  • Je kan uitstekende studieresultaten voorleggen.
  • Je bent vertrouwd met (multivariate) kwantitatieve onderzoeksmethoden.
  • Je bent vertrouwd met softwarepakket SPPS en/of R.
  • Je bent vertrouwd met kwalitatieve onderzoeksmethoden.
  • Relevante bijkomende diploma's en/of keuzevakken die een meerwaarde kunnen betekenen strekken tot aanbeveling.
  • Je hebt interesse in wetenschappelijke en/of projectmatig onderzoek en dienstverlening.
  • Je gaat kwaliteitsgericht, integer, creatief en samenwerkingsgericht te werk. Je toont tegelijkertijd zin voor initiatief en zelfstandigheid.
  • Je onderwijscompetenties sluiten aan bij de onderwijsvisie van de Universiteit Gent.
  • Je streeft ernaar deadlines te behalen.
  • Onderwijservaring en deelname aan nascholing, conferenties etc. strekt tot aanbeveling.
  • Je beschikt over goede didactische en communicatieve kwaliteiten
  • Je hebt affiniteit en een sterke interesse in innovatie en technologie en combineert deze met een kritische, maatschappelijk geëngageerde blik.
