Als Automation Engineer werk je aan technische omgevingen waar nauwkeurigheid, betrouwbaarheid en doordachte systeemintegratie essentieel zijn. In deze functie krijg je de kans om automatiseringsoplossingen uit te werken die rechtstreeks bijdragen aan de veiligheid, performantie en continuïteit van industriële processen binnen de energie- en O&G-sector. Je maakt deel uit van projecten waarin techniek, analyse en samenwerking samenkomen, en waarin jouw inzicht het verschil maakt tussen een goede installatie en een oplossing die echt waarde toevoegt op lange termijn. Je werkt dicht bij de klant, stemt af met verschillende stakeholders en denkt mee over hoe processen slimmer, stabieler en beter beheersbaar kunnen worden ingericht. Binnen deze rol krijg je ruimte om zelfstandig te handelen, maar ook om samen met experten verder te bouwen op bestaande technische fundamenten. De opdracht vraagt een combinatie van praktische ervaring, gestructureerd werken en de durf om verbeteringen voor te stellen waar dat technisch zinvol is. Je bent iemand die graag de vertaalslag maakt van noden op de werkvloer naar betrouwbare automatiseringsoplossingen.

Je verantwoordelijkheden omvatten onder meer:

  • Ontwerpen, ontwikkelen, testen en in bedrijf stellen van automatiseringsoplossingen voor industriële installaties.
  • Analyseren van technische noden en vertalen naar functionele en technische specificaties.
  • Ondersteunen van PLC-, SCADA- en/of DCS-omgevingen, afhankelijk van de projectcontext.
  • Uitvoeren van troubleshooting en het oplossen van storingen of prestatiedalingen in automatiseringssystemen.
  • Afstemmen met engineering, operations, maintenance en andere betrokken teams om een vlotte uitvoering te garanderen.
  • Bijdragen aan optimalisaties op het vlak van veiligheid, beschikbaarheid, kwaliteit en processturing.
  • Opstellen en beheren van technische documentatie, testplannen en rapporteringen.
  • Meedenken over verbeteringen die de betrouwbaarheid en efficiëntie van de installaties versterken.

Voor deze functie zoeken we een Automation Engineer met een stevige technische basis en ervaring in industriële omgevingen. Je voelt je thuis in projecten waar analytisch denken, precisie en een gestructureerde aanpak belangrijk zijn. De rol vraagt iemand die niet enkel systemen begrijpt, maar ook de context erachter: productieomgevingen, veiligheidsvereisten, operationele prioriteiten en de impact van automatisering op het geheel. Met 5 tot 10 jaar ervaring beschik je idealiter over voldoende maturiteit om zelfstandig te werken, technische keuzes mee te onderbouwen en soepel te schakelen tussen verschillende stakeholders. Je bent communicatief sterk, werkt nauwgezet en haalt voldoening uit oplossingen die in de praktijk echt functioneren. Omdat je vaak dicht op de klant werkt, zijn professionaliteit, eigenaarschap en een pragmatische ingesteldheid belangrijk.

De ideale kandidaat beschikt over:

  • 5 tot 10 jaar ervaring als Automation Engineer of in een gelijkaardige industriële automatiseringsfunctie.
  • Een bachelor- of masterdiploma in elektromechanica, automatisering, industriële engineering, meet- en regeltechniek of een gelijkwaardige richting.
  • Ervaring met PLC-, SCADA- en/of DCS-systemen binnen industriële omgevingen.
  • Kennis van industriële processen, instrumentatie, besturingstechniek en storingsanalyse.
  • Vermogen om technische analyses om te zetten in heldere acties en werkbare oplossingen.
  • Goede communicatieve vaardigheden in het Nederlands; kennis van Engels is een troef.
  • Een gestructureerde, kwaliteitsgerichte en veiligheidsbewuste werkstijl.
  • Bereidheid om te werken aan projecten binnen de energie- en O&G-sector.
