De geriatrie onderscheidt zich van andere afdelingen door de multipathologie van de patiënt en een multidisciplinaire zorg met specifieke aandacht voor de mens achter de patiënt. Deze afdeling staat in voor diagnose, behandeling en opvolging van patiënten met acute ouderdomsgebonden pathologie vanaf 75 jaar. Tijdens de opname streven we ernaar de functionele toestand van de patiënt maximaal te verbeteren zodat terugkeer naar de vertrouwde omgeving mogelijk wordt.

  • Je hebt aandacht voor diverse verpleegproblemen en kan deze tijdig opsporen
  • Je stimuleert zelfredzaamheid en kan rekening houden met de lichamelijke, psychische en sociale problemen van de
  • oudere zorgvrager
  • Je werkt autonoom en kan snel reageren in veranderende omstandigheden
  • Je verleent totaalzorg aan patiënten met een zwaar zorgprofiel. Naast de basiszorg worden ook technische
  • handelingen uitgevoerd (IV therapie, wondzorg, katheterzorg,...)
  • Je werkt nauw samen met alle leden van het multidisciplinaire team
  • Je denkt mee over procesverbeteringen en inrichting van de afdeling. Je bepaalt hierbij effectief doelen en
  • prioriteiten en maakt efficiënt gebruik van tijd en middelen
  • Je ondersteunt, informeert, vangt de patiënt en zijn familie op
  • Je hebt een diploma Verpleegkunde (bachelor verpleegkunde - VVAZ OF basisverpleegkundige - HBO5)
  • Je hebt interesse in de multi pathologie en polyfarmacie van de geriatrische patiënt
  • Je communiceert helder en gestructureerd, afgestemd op de doelgroep. Je neemt informatie op, stelt vragen en
  • gaat in op (non-) verbale reacties
  • Je draagt bij aan een positief werkklimaat waar voortdurend leren, ontwikkelen en samenwerken op de voorgrond
