Het vakgebied van sociale geneeskunde is de laatste jaren flink in beweging, zowel bij de overheid, arbodiensten als bij de bedrijven. Het accent ligt steeds meer op de preventie en een aanpak waarbij de afstand tot het werk zo klein mogelijk wordt gehouden. Zo houd je rekening met medische maar ook met psychologische factoren en de relatie tussen werkgever en werknemer. Het leuke is de diversiteit van het vak. Verschillende samenwerkingen en werkplekken. Je zult regelmatig te maken krijgen met situaties waarin belangen van werknemers en werkgevers tegenover elkaar staan, maar het is belangrijk om te onthouden dat je als onafhankelijk adviseur opereert. Het is essentieel dat je dit leuk vindt en hiermee om kunt gaan. Je cliënten zijn werknemers die door ziekte zijn uitgevallen en/of uitkeringsgerechtigden die moeten re-integreren. Als medisch deskundige beoordeel je de belastbaarheid van werknemers en kijkt in voorkomende gevallen breder naar mogelijkheden om te werken. Is er de mogelijkheid ander, 'lichter' werk te doen? De werkzaamheden vinden plaats gedurende kantoortijden. Functie eisen Om te werken in de sociale geneeskunde is het essentieel dat je beschikt over: - Een BIG-registratie arts - De combinatie van sociale vaardigheden en een zakelijke instelling - Affiniteit met het werkgebied van verzuimbegeleiding, preventie en re-integratie.
