Jouw nieuwe baan Binnen deze baan bied jij medische zorg aan mensen met een verstandelijke beperking. De vragen zijn vaak breder dan 1 klacht. Gedrag, communicatie, epilepsie, autisme, medicatie, voeding en lichamelijke beperkingen kunnen allemaal een rol spelen. Onder supervisie van een arts VG onderzoek en behandel je cliënten. Je bespreekt je bevindingen, stelt beleid voor en kijkt mee naar wat iemand nodig heeft om gezond en stabiel te blijven. Begeleiders zijn belangrijke gesprekspartners. Zij kennen de cliënt, merken kleine veranderingen op en helpen jou om signalen goed te duiden. Dat vraagt om rustig vragen stellen, goed luisteren en keuzes maken die passen bij de cliënt. Deze opdracht geeft je als basisarts de kans om medische ervaring op te doen in een vakgebied waar je anders leert kijken. Niet alleen naar de diagnose, maar ook naar iemands gedrag, leefomgeving en manier van communiceren. Jouw nieuwe werkplek Op het woonpark wonen cliënten met uiteenlopende zorgvragen. Sommigen hebben lichte ondersteuning nodig. Anderen krijgen 24-uurszorg en vragen veel medische alertheid. De medische dienst werkt nauw samen met begeleiders, verpleegkundigen en behandelaren. Iedereen kijkt vanuit een eigen vakgebied naar dezelfde cliënt. Daardoor ontstaat een compleet beeld van wat er speelt. De setting past bij een basisarts die graag de tijd neemt om gedrag en klachten te begrijpen. Soms is de medische vraag helder.
