Materieel Terrestrische Ecologie / Biodiversiteit en verduurzaming / Biodiversiteit in het stedelijk groen Biodiversiteit en verduurzaming Insecten hebben weinig leefruimte nodig, zolang deze maar bloemrijk en divers is en de vegetatie bestaat uit inheemse soorten. Bovendien hebben ze een onmisbare rol in een ecologisch systeem als bestuivers van wilde planten en allerlei gewassen, zoals fruitbomen en groenten en als voedsel voor vogels, amfibieën en kleine zoogdieren. Het is dan ook een ideale soortgroep om op een relatief eenvoudige én goedkope manier maatregelen voor te treffen, zelfs tot diep in het stedelijke gebied. Nu het in het landbouwgebied duidelijk slechter gaat met insecten, kan het stedelijk gebied een toevluchtsoord zijn. Vooral graslandvlinders en diverse bijensoorten, die in het buitengebied onder druk staan, blijken in het stedelijke groen goed te gedijen. Door omvorming van het beheer, vaak met minder maaien en dus minder kosten dan in het reguliere beheer, zijn er mogelijkheden om de kruidenrijkdom te verhogen. Ook het lokaal inzaaien met een inheems kruidenmengsel op kansrijke locaties biedt goede mogelijkheden om het stedelijk gebied aantrekkelijker te maken voor insecten. Wat kan ATKB voor u betekenen ATKB |kan op verschillende manieren adviseren over de invulling van het groenbeheer binnen de bebouwde kom: - Meedenken in te maken beheer- en beleidskeuzes - Opstellen van een beheerstrategie - Verkenning van kansrijke locaties voor beheermaatregelen - Advies in de samenstelling van specifieke, op de locatie toegespitste kruidenmengsels - Evaluatie van het beheer en de resultaten Voor het samenstellen en leveren van kruidenmengsels werken wij samen met Cruydthoeck en Heem. Desgewenst kunnen we de monitoring (nulmeting en vervolgmonitoring) voor u uitvoeren; we hebben veel ervaring met het inventariseren van alle relevante soortgroepen (insecten en flora).
