Glasaal Volendam is op zoek naar een alleskunner om ons team van onderzoekers te versterken. Wij ontwikkelen een techniek waarmee we in één klap de hele palingsector een boost geven, èn een bedreigde diersoort kunnen behouden. Heb je 'blauwe vingers' en wil je bijdragen aan deze revolutie? Lees dan verder. Soort dienstverband: Voltijd Locatie: Edam, Nederland Ons doel is om pootgoed aan palingboerderijen te leveren, zodat zei een écht duurzame paling kunnen kweken. Het is onze missie om de vangst en smokkel van glasaal overbodig te maken, door zelf glasaal - vanaf het ei - op te kweken. De techniek die hiervoor nodig is moeten we zelf ontwikkelen: ook voor universiteiten is het nog niet mogelijk om glasaal te kweken. Omdat onze kennis verder reikt dan de wetenschappelijke publicaties, zijn we ervan overtuigd dat het ons gaat lukken om, als één van de eerste ter wereld, glasaal te kweken. Jouw verantwoordelijkheid wordt het in stand houden van de larvenproductie. Dit doe je met name door de ouderdieren, eitjes en larven te verzorgen. Daarnaast draag je bij aan het onderzoek. Primaire taken: • Je verzorgt onze ouderdieren en larven, met name ouderdieren • Omdat we in een klein team werken, neem je ook taken op facilitair gebied op je • Je voert biologisch onderzoek uit aan de reproductiecyclus van de paling Daarnaast: • Draag je bij aan verzorging van onze paling in het larve en wilgenblad stadium • Bereid je documentatie aan controlerende instanties voor (denk aan NVWA) • Verzamel je gegevens • Assisteer je bij onderhoud aan de kweeksystemen • Draai je mee in het schema van weekend- en alarmdiensten Functie eisen: • Je hebt minimaal een BSc in een relevant werkveld: bv. (mariene) biologie of aquacultuur • Je bent een aanpakker met een 'can do' mentaliteit • Als bioloog heb je, waar nodig, oog voor detail en kwaliteit • Je hebt sterke organisatorische skills • Je bent in staat om zelfstandig en in het teamverband te...
