Laat ons eerlijk zijn: de meeste business controllers kennen het gevoel. Elke maand dezelfde cyclus, dezelfde tabellen, dezelfde vraag of het rapport "al klaar is". Intussen weet je precies wat er in de cijfers zit, maar niemand die er iets mee doet. Onze klant — een internationale speler in de duurzame logistieke sector — heeft dat patroon liever gisteren dan morgen doorbroken.

Jouw verantwoordelijkheden als Business Controller:

  • Elke maand bouw je budgetten en forecasts op en leg je uit waarom de realiteit weer eens zijn eigen plannetje had. Niet om het management te vermaken, maar om het bij te sturen.
  • Je houdt KPI's en marges in de gaten, spit door ruwe data en maakt er iets van waar beslissingsnemers effectief wat aan hebben. Geen dashboards die alleen maar mooi kleuren.
  • Je stelt de vragen die collega's in de operationele afdelingen liever niet horen, maar die ze eigenlijk wel nodig hebben. Constructief, maar zonder er doekjes om te winden.
  • Je kijkt naar bestaande financiële processen met de blik van iemand die denkt "dit kan toch efficiënter" en zet die gedachte ook effectief om in actie.
  • Je onderbouwt strategische business cases met cijfers die de verdere groei van de organisatie mee richting geven. Geen buikgevoel, wel onderbouwde argumenten.
