The posting

In deze rol neem je een centrale plaats in binnen het cloud- en platformteam. Je werkt nauw samen met infrastructuur-, applicatie- en data-teams en externe ontwikkelpartners om een stabiele en goed beheerde Microsoft Azure-omgeving uit te bouwen.

Concreet zal je:

Infrastructuur ontwerpen, bouwen en onderhouden met Infrastructure as Code, met een sterke focus op Terraform. Cloud workloads uitrollen, beheren en continu verbeteren op Microsoft Azure, inclusief identity & access, networking en secure key management. Kubernetes-gebaseerde workloads monitoren en troubleshooten, bij voorkeur op OpenShift, in samenwerking met externe software development partners. Meewerken aan een veilige, schaalbare en gestandaardiseerde cloudplatformarchitectuur die zowel applicatielevering als data-gedreven workloads ondersteunt. GitOps-gebaseerde deploymentpraktijken ondersteunen en herbruikbare, omgeving-specifieke configuraties onderhouden (o.a. Argo CD, Kustomize). CI/CD pipelines opzetten, optimaliseren en beheren in Azure DevOps, in lijn met DevOps-principes. Platformbetrouwbaarheid versterken door incidenten te onderzoeken, root-cause analyses uit te voeren en resilience, failure handling en observability te verbeteren. Doeltreffende monitoring, dashboards en alerting helpen definiëren zodat teams snel bruikbare inzichten krijgen in gedistribueerde en event-driven systemen.

Om in deze functie als Cloud Engineer succesvol te zijn, beschik je idealiter over volgende achtergrond en vaardigheden:

Aantoonbare ervaring met Terraform en Infrastructure as Code in een professionele omgeving. Praktische ervaring met Microsoft Azure, inclusief identity & access management, networking, platform governance en veilig sleutelbeheer. Ervaring met Kubernetes-omgevingen, bij voorkeur OpenShift, en het troubleshooten van workloads in gecontaineriseerde setups. Sterke ervaring met Azure DevOps Pipelines en CI/CD-automatisering. Vertrouwdheid met GitOps-principes en tools zoals Argo CD en Kustomize. Een goed begrip van gedistribueerde en event-driven systemen, inclusief retries, idempotency, ordering en failure handling. Inzicht in observability in cloud-native omgevingen en de vaardigheid om incidenten over verschillende systemen heen te analyseren. Een gestructureerde manier van werken, met eigenaarschap en focus op betrouwbare, onderhoudbare oplossingen. Heldere communicatiestijl en de capaciteit om vlot samen te werken met infrastructuur-, development- en businessgerichte teams. Een hands-on, oplossingsgerichte mindset en interesse in het verbeteren van standaarden, automatisering en werkwijzen. Ervaring met scripting en automatisering, bijvoorbeeld in PowerShell, Bash en/of Python is een belangrijk pluspunt. Extra kennis van tooling zoals Helm, Bicep, Pulumi of Ansible, andere cloudplatformen (AWS, GCP) of data-gerelateerde workloads is mooi meegenomen.
