Als Container Checker wordt ingestaan voor de controle en correcte registratie van containers die de terminal binnenkomen en verlaten. Ervaring in een gelijkaardige functie is hierbij belangrijk, aangezien snel en zelfstandig moet kunnen worden ingeschat of containers voldoen aan de vereiste kwaliteits- en veiligheidsnormen.

Het takenpakket bestaat onder andere uit:

  • Visueel controleren van containers op schade, deuken, roest, scheuren, lekkages en andere afwijkingen.
  • Correct herkennen en beoordelen van verschillende soorten containerschade.
  • Registreren van vastgestelde schade en relevante containergegevens in het systeem.
  • Uitvoeren van controles volgens de geldende procedures en kwaliteitsnormen.
  • Opmaken en verwerken van correcte administratieve registraties.
  • Fungeren als aanspreekpunt voor chauffeurs bij aankomst op de terminal.
  • Geven van duidelijke instructies aan chauffeurs en hen correct doorverwijzen.
  • Overleggen met collega’s van operations, planning en andere betrokken afdelingen.
  • Signaleren van afwijkingen of technische problemen.
  • Mee instaan voor een veilige en vlotte doorstroming van containers op de terminal.
  • Werken met computer, tablet en interne registratiesystemen.
  • Respecteren van de veiligheidsvoorschriften die gelden binnen de havenomgeving.

De functie wordt grotendeels uitgevoerd in een operationele buitenomgeving.

Voor deze functie wordt bewust gezocht naar iemand die reeds relevante ervaring als Container Checker of binnen containercontrole heeft opgebouwd.

  • Aantoonbare ervaring met het controleren en inspecteren van containers is belangrijk.
  • Ervaring binnen een containerterminal, depot, havenbedrijf of gelijkaardige logistieke omgeving vormt een sterke meerwaarde.
  • Kennis van verschillende soorten containerschade en afwijkingen.
  • In staat om zelfstandig te beoordelen of een container technisch en visueel in orde is.
  • Goede administratieve vaardigheden voor een correcte registratie van controles en schades.
  • Vlot kunnen werken met computer, tablet en digitale systemen.
  • Nauwkeurige en kwaliteitsgerichte werkhouding.
  • Zelfstandig kunnen werken en verantwoordelijkheid nemen voor uitgevoerde controles.
  • Stressbestendig en in staat om overzicht te bewaren tijdens drukke momenten.
  • Bereidheid om hoofdzakelijk buiten te werken in verschillende weersomstandigheden.
  • Vlotte kennis van het Nederlands.
  • Basiskennis van het Engels is belangrijk voor communicatie met chauffeurs en collega’s.
  • Veiligheidsbewuste werkhouding.
  • Eigen vervoer is aangewezen indien de terminal moeilijk bereikbaar is met het openbaar vervoer.
