The posting

In deze functie ben je het aanspreekpunt voor alle douane- en border compliance activiteiten binnen de shipping- en portomgeving. Je staat tussen de operationele teams, klanten en de verschillende autoriteiten en zorgt dat de goederenstroom aan de grenzen correct én efficiënt verloopt.

Concreet ga je:

  • instaan voor alle aspecten van border compliance en douaneactiviteiten binnen de shipping- en portomgeving, met aandacht voor naleving van wetgeving en een vlotte doorstroming van goederen;
  • contact onderhouden met haven- en douaneautoriteiten en instaan voor het verkrijgen en behouden van de nodige authorisaties en vergunningen (zoals AEO, Bonded Warehouse, Temporary Storage);
  • fungeren als intern kenniscentrum voor douanezaken en customs compliance voor zowel interne als externe stakeholders;
  • organisatiebrede procedures, werkinstructies, rapporten en KPI's opzetten, beheren en uitrollen rond douaneprocessen en customs clearance;
  • administratieve formaliteiten opvolgen, monitoren en waar mogelijk automatiseren via de bestaande IT-systemen;
  • proactief operationele processen en IT-systemen analyseren en voorstellen doen om deze verder te verbeteren;
  • meedenken en handelen bij incidenten of blokkades aan de grens en zorgen voor een snelle en duurzame oplossing. Je neemt daarbij een zichtbare rol op in de dagelijkse operatie én in de verdere uitbouw van het douane- en compliancebeleid.

- Je bent vlot in het Engels; kennis van andere talen is een pluspunt.

  • Je hebt idealiter ervaring of kennis in shipping, ports of douaneactiviteiten, of je bent sterk gemotiveerd om je snel in complexe douanematerie en customs legislation in te werken.
  • Je leert snel, werkt hands-on en gaat net zo lang door tot een probleem structureel opgelost is.
  • Je communiceert helder en bouwt gemakkelijk duurzame relaties op met interne collega's, klanten en externe partners zoals douane- en havenautoriteiten.
  • Je kan prioriteiten stellen, werkt autonoom en zoekt voortdurend naar verbeteringen in processen en systemen.
  • Je bent bereid om ongeveer één keer per 12 weken stand-by te zijn tijdens weekend en vroege avond, zodat de operaties continu ondersteund blijven.
  • Je voldoet aan de voorwaarden om een wettelijk vereiste positieve veiligheidsbeoordeling te krijgen voor kritische functies in de haven.
