The posting

De dienst Natuur- en Milieueducatie biedt een breed educatief aanbod voor diverse doelgroepen. Op schooldagen ontvangen we elk jaar honderden klassen van kleuter- tot secundair onderwijs. Daarnaast organiseren we activiteiten rond natuur- en milieueducatie voor het brede publiek, beheren we een materiaaldepot en ondersteunen we externe besturen, organisaties en scholen bij natuur- en milieueducatie. Ook thema’s zoals klimaatgezonde speelplaatsen, klimaat en energie en educatie voor duurzame ontwikkeling maken deel uit van onze werking. We doen dit vanuit drie verschillende locaties: de Kaaihoeve (Zwalm), Bastion VIII (Dendermonde) en Fabriek Energiek (Zelzate). De dienst telt een 25-tal medewerkers.

Als diensthoofd zorg je ervoor dat al die activiteiten samen een sterk geheel vormen:

  • Je geeft richting aan de medewerkers, coacht en motiveert hen om samen de doelstellingen van de dienst te realiseren. Je zorgt voor een goede samenwerking tussen de verschillende teams en locaties. Daarnaast vorm je de verbindende schakel tussen je medewerkers, de directie en het beleid.
  • Je bewaakt de inhoudelijke kwaliteit van de werking en zorgt ervoor dat dossiers vlot, correct en zorgvuldig worden opgevolgd. Je bewaakt de visie en missie van de dienst en zorgt ervoor dat de werking aansluit bij de doelstellingen van het meerjarenplan. Je volgt ontwikkelingen op rond natuur, milieu, klimaat en educatie en vertaalt die, samen met je medewerkers, naar concrete acties.
  • Je werkt mee aan de beleidsplanning en het budget en je volgt de inzet van de beschikbare middelen op.
  • Je vertegenwoordigt het provinciebestuur in overleg met andere diensten, besturen en externe partners. Je bouwt mee aan goede en duurzame samenwerkingen binnen en buiten de organisatie.

Deze functie vraagt dus meer dan alleen leidinggeven. Je combineert mensen aansturen met inhoudelijke betrokkenheid, beleidsmatig denken met een praktische aanpak en aandacht voor kwaliteit met ruimte voor initiatief. Je krijgt de vrijheid om samen met je team de werking verder uit te bouwen, binnen duidelijke afspraken en met één gezamenlijk doel: sterke natuur- en milieueducatie die mensen in beweging brengt!

Je werkt hoofdzakelijk in Natuureducatief centrum De Kaaihoeve, Oude Scheldestraat 16, 9630 Meilegem (Zwalm). Daarnaast zal je ook geregeld aanwezig zijn in de andere centra Bastion VIII (Dendermonde) en Fabriek Energiek (Zelzate). Overlegmomenten of opleidingen kunnen ook doorgaan in het Provinciehuis te Gent.

Als diensthoofd dienst Natuur- & Milieueducatie beschik je over:

  • een masterdiploma
  • een rijbewijs B
  • basiskennis klimaat en hernieuwbare energie, natuur- en milieueducatie, EDO.

Het is een pluspunt als je al eerder gewerkt hebt bij een overheidsinstelling.
