Als Draaier / Bankwerker ben je binnen de werkplaats verantwoordelijk voor diverse metaalbewerkings- en onderhoudswerkzaamheden. In de smederij van de scheepswerf vervaardig, herstel en onderhoud je metalen onderdelen die worden toegepast aan boord van schepen. Je werkt nauwkeurig aan uiteenlopende stalen componenten en zorgt dat deze voldoen aan de gestelde maatvoering en kwaliteitseisen. Je meet zelfstandig onderdelen in, zoals schroefassen, roersystemen en stuurinstallaties, en voert waar nodig kleine reparaties uit aan machines. Daarnaast verricht je klein ijzerwerk en fitwerkzaamheden. Een belangrijk onderdeel van de functie is het draaien op een conventionele draaibank, waarbij je technische tekeningen vertaalt naar nauwkeurig afgewerkte onderdelen. Met jouw vakmanschap, technische inzicht en zelfstandige werkwijze lever je een directe bijdrage aan de bouw, reparatie en het onderhoud van maritieme installaties en constructies.
