Als Embedded Software Engineer kom je terecht binnen een hoogtechnologisch productiebedrijf dat wereldwijd meetapparatuur ontwikkelt voor de metaalindustrie. Binnen deze rol ligt de focus op het ontwerpen, ontwikkelen en optimaliseren van embedded software voor geavanceerde temperatuurmeetsystemen die functioneren in extreme productieomgevingen. De functie combineert softwareontwikkeling, elektronica en systeemintegratie in een technisch uitdagende context waar betrouwbaarheid en precisie centraal staan. Je werkt nauw samen met ervaren engineers aan innovatieve oplossingen die internationaal worden ingezet binnen industriële productieprocessen.

Wat ga je doen?

Embedded softwareontwikkeling

Je ontwikkelt en onderhoudt embedded software in C en C++ voor ARM-gebaseerde controllers. Daarbij vertaal je functionele vereisten naar betrouwbare en performante softwareoplossingen. Je schrijft software die metingen en signalen verwerkt, interpreteert en communiceert met hardware en drivers. Ook denk je actief mee over softwaredesign, requirements en systeemarchitectuur en volg je nieuwe features op via het interne ticketsysteem.

Systeemintegratie en technische samenwerking

Je staat mee in voor de integratie en het testen van communicatieprotocollen zoals SPI, Ethernet, USB en BLE. Bij problemen analyseer en debug je embedded systemen en werk je gericht aan oplossingen. Daarnaast stem je nauw af met hardware- en elektronica-engineers en externe partners. Vanuit die samenwerking kijk je verder dan de software alleen en draag je bij aan de werking, kwaliteit en continue verbetering van het volledige systeem.

Wie ben jij?

  • Je beschikt over een Masterdiploma in elektronica, computerwetenschappen of een gelijkaardige technische richting.
  • Je brengt meerdere jaren relevante ervaring mee binnen Embedded Software Development en beschikt over een zeer goede kennis van C en C++.
  • Ervaring met ARM-controllers en Embedded systemen is noodzakelijk.
  • Je begrijpt hoe software samenwerkt met hardware, sensoren, signalen en drivers en kunt requirements zelfstandig interpreteren en vertalen naar concrete technische oplossingen.
  • Je neemt ownership over je werk, werkt proactief en formuleert zelfstandig technische keuzes en voorstellen.
  • Je communiceert open over ideeën, problemen en timing en werkt graag samen met collega's.
  • Je kijkt naar het volledige technische plaatje en combineert nauwkeurigheid met de nodige snelheid om vooruitgang te boeken.
  • Affiniteit met elektronica en hardware-integratie is een sterke troef.
  • Ervaring met Git en Azure DevOps is mooi meegenomen.
  • Kennis van Assembler of C# is een pluspunt, maar geen vereiste.

Voor deze functie is vooral belangrijk dat je als Ervaren engineer snel zelfstandig inzetbaar bent en voldoende technische bagage meebrengt om verantwoordelijkheid op te nemen.
