Ben jij een gedreven engineer die graag een wereldwijde impact wil maken op het gebied van technologie voor het beschermen van levens?

Fike is op zoek naar een gemotiveerde Engineer Fire protection om ons dynamische Engineering-team in Herentals, België, te versterken. In deze functie speel je een belangrijke rol in zowel de verdere ontwikkeling als het beheer van ons portfolio van brandbeveiligingsproducten.

Je werkt aan geavanceerde technische oplossingen, bouwt diepgaande expertise op in internationale certificeringen voor brandbeveiligingssystemen en werkt nauw samen met verschillende interne afdelingen en externe partners.

Deze functie biedt een gevarieerde combinatie van hands-on technisch ontwerp, testen, certificering beheer en occasionele verplaatsingen (ongeveer één keer per maand) ter ondersteuning van project mijlpalen, locatie beoordelingen of samenwerkingen met partners.

In deze functie ben je verantwoordelijk voor de volgende taken:

  • Technische ondersteuning bieden bij de verdere ontwikkeling, productverbeteringen en de volledige levenscyclus van Fike's brandbeveiligingsproducten.
  • Je verdiept je in en toepassen van relevante industrienormen, voorschriften en certificeringen voor brandbeveiligingssystemen. Deelnemen aan commissies voor industrienormen en samenwerken met externe certificeringsinstanties, productspecialisten en regelgevende autoriteiten om wereldwijde goedkeuringen te verkrijgen en te behouden.
  • Rechtstreeks samenwerken met klanten om brand beveiligingsoplossingen te bieden die zijn afgestemd op specifieke toepassingen.
  • Testprogramma's ontwikkelen voor de functionaliteit van brandbeveiligingsproducten, mogelijke faalwijzen en toepassingscriteria; de voortgang opvolgen, gegevens analyseren en resultaten rapporteren. Gebruik Maken van 3D-software voor engineering ontwerpen, het opstellen van wijziging instructies en het bijwerken van artikelgegevens of stuklijsten (BOM's).
  • Samenwerken met de afdelingen Sales, Marketing, Productie en Quality om technische vragen op te lossen, vereisten te verduidelijken of materiaal beoordelingen uit te voeren.
  • Ongeveer één keer per maand reizen voor projectondersteuning, certificeringsaudits of bezoeken aan klanten en partners.
  • Kennis opbouwen van relevante industrienormen en voorschriften en deze effectief toepassen.
  • De vertrouwelijkheid van alle toevertrouwde informatie waarborgen.

Vereiste vaardigheden en kwalificaties:

  • Diploma in Werktuigbouwkunde, Brandbeveiligingstechniek, Systeemtechniek of een vergelijkbaar technisch vakgebied (of gelijkwaardige praktische ervaring).
  • Goede praktische kennis van 3D CAD-software en gangbare kantoorsoftware.
  • Sterke motivatie en bereidheid om internationale voorschriften, normen en goedkeuringsprocessen voor brandbeveiligingssystemen te leren kennen.
  • Bereidheid en beschikbaarheid om ongeveer één keer per maand te reizen.
  • Sterk analytisch denkvermogen, met het vermogen om technische gegevens kritisch te beoordelen en complexe technische uitdagingen op te lossen.
  • Vermogen om professionele relaties op te bouwen en te onderhouden met zowel interne afdelingen als externe partners.
  • Uitstekende beheersing van het Engels, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk (essentieel).

Gewenste / aanvullende vaardigheden:

  • Kennis van of eerdere ervaring met Europese normen en regelgeving kaders voor brandbeveiliging (bijv. EN-normen, VDS, LPCB of CPR/CE-markering).
  • Kennis van of praktische ervaring met projectmanagement principes.
