Engineering Manager

FUNCTIE OMSCHRIJVING

Als Engineering Manager neem je de leiding over de engineeringafdeling (±5 medewerkers: engineers, tekenaars, werkvoorbereiders en aankoop) en draag je de eindverantwoordelijkheid voor het technisch ontwerp van staal- en machinebouwprojecten.

Je combineert hands-on engineering met een coachende en organisatorische rol.

Jouw verantwoordelijkheden

  • Aansturen en coachen van engineers en tekenaars: taakverdeling, opvolging en kwaliteitsbewaking
  • Fungeren als technisch klankbord en stimuleren van kennisdeling binnen het team
  • Vertalen van klantvragen naar innovatieve, maakbare en betrouwbare oplossingen
  • Opsplitsen van complexe projecten in deelsystemen en bepalen van make-or-buy
  • Actief klantencontact vanuit engineering, in overleg met management en sales
  • Optimaliseren en structureren van processen (o.a. workflows, standaardisatie, tekenhandboek)
  • Ontwerpen en uitwerken van 3D-modellen, onderdelen en samenstellingen
  • Opstellen van technische specificaties, berekeningen en werkinstructies
  • Uitvoeren van kwaliteitsreviews en bewaken van technische correctheid
  • Nauw samenwerken met projectleiding, productie en sales
  • Rapporteren aan de operationeel manager

PROFIEL

  • Master Industrieel Ingenieur (of gelijkwaardig door ervaring)
  • Minstens 7 jaar relevante ervaring binnen machinebouw of werktuigbouw
  • Sterke kennis van staalconstructies (vereist)
  • Kennis van pneumatiek en hydraulica is een plus
  • Ervaring of sterke ambitie in een leidinggevende/coördinerende rol
  • Coachende ingesteldheid en sterke communicatieve vaardigheden
  • Technisch sterk én in staat om overzicht te bewaren in complexe projecten
  • Vlot in het Engels; kennis van het Duits is een troef
