Finance Director Organization SET Ventures is a European venture capital firm investing in technology companies that enable the transition towards a carbon-free energy system. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Amsterdam, SET focuses on the digital technologies, data-driven solutions and new business models needed to make an increasingly decentralised energy system work. The firm invests in early-growth companies across Europe and combines financial ambition with measurable impact: contributing to the energy transition is at the core of SET's investment strategy and identity. SET operates with a compact, international team of around 15 people and combines deep sector expertise with an entrepreneurial and pragmatic culture. The organisation is flat, with significant freedom and individual responsibility. People are expected to take ownership, form and defend their own point of view and contribute to substantive debate, irrespective of seniority. This combination of purpose, entrepreneurship and intellectual challenge defines SET: professional and structured where needed, while retaining the speed, curiosity and willingness to take calculated risks that are fundamental to venture capital. The job profile The Finance Director has broad responsibility for the financial and operational backbone of SET Ventures, covering both the funds and the international management company. Working closely with the Partners and investment team, you oversee fund finance and reporting, cash flow, fund economics, valuations, compliance, legal, risk and tax. You also contribute to investment governance and work with external specialists and advisors where appropriate. The role extends beyond Finance into impact reporting, investor and fundraising support, and SET's wider operational infrastructure, including IT and vendor management.
