Gezinshuizen: een thuis waar ontwikkeling mogelijk wordt Voor sommige kinderen is opgroeien in hun eigen gezin (tijdelijk) niet mogelijk. In een gezinshuis bieden we hen een veilige, stabiele plek waar zij zich kunnen ontwikkelen. De kinderen die in een gezinshuis wonen, hebben vaak al veel meegemaakt. Denk aan problemen in het gezin van herkomst, meerdere eerdere woonplekken en ontwikkelings- of gedragsvraagstukken. Juist daarom is een warme, voorspelbare leefomgeving zo belangrijk. In een gezinshuis wonen gemiddeld 2 tot 4 kinderen. Dit kan kortdurend zijn, bijvoorbeeld in een crisissituatie, of langdurig, waarbij een jongere tot ongeveer 21 jaar in het gezinshuis blijft. Samen kijken we welke vorm van plaatsingen past bij jullie gezin. Werk je al als gezinshuisouder, bijvoorbeeld als onderaannemer of via Gezinshuis.com? Ook dan gaan we graag met je in gesprek over de mogelijkheden voor samenwerking. Jouw rol Als gezinshuisouder bied je kinderen meer dan alleen een dak boven hun hoofd. Je geeft hen rust, structuur en vertrouwen, zodat zij zich stap voor stap kunnen ontwikkelen. De kinderen draaien mee in jullie gezin (met twee opvoeders als basis). Tegelijkertijd sta je er niet alleen voor: je werkt samen met een betrokken behandelteam, bestaande uit een gedragswetenschapper, ambulant hulpverlener en pedagogisch medewerker. Samen stemmen jullie de zorg en begeleiding af op wat het kind nodig heeft. We vinden het belangrijk dat ook ouders, broers, zussen en het netwerk van het kind een plek houden.
