Je hebt dagelijks contact met reizigers en gebruikt jouw handhavingsbevoegdheden om op te treden wanneer dat nodig is. - Je zorgt ervoor dat dagelijks duizenden reizigers zich veilig en welkom voelen in het openbaar vervoer van Amsterdam. - Je komt terecht in een betrokken team waarin collega's altijd voor elkaar klaarstaan en samen de veiligheid in het OV waarborgen De functie In de functie van Handhaver Veiligheid Openbaar Vervoer (VOV) ben jij iedere dag zichtbaar aanwezig in de stad. Je bent werkzaam op en rondom trein- en metrostations in Amsterdam en zorgt ervoor dat reizigers veilig en prettig hun weg kunnen vervolgen. Je start je dienst met een briefing, waarin je te horen krijgt waar je die dag wordt ingezet en welke bijzonderheden er spelen. Vervolgens ga je op pad met je collega's. Je krijgt te maken met uiteenlopende meldingen. Het ene moment help je een reiziger die de weg kwijt is of een vraag heeft. Het volgende moment spreek je iemand aan op ongewenst gedrag of handel je een incident af. Wanneer er sprake is van een strafbaar feit, treed je op en zorg je ervoor dat de situatie onder controle komt. Ook wanneer de spanning oploopt, blijf je rustig en professioneel. Je kunt snel inschatten wat een situatie vraagt en weet wanneer je moet optreden, grenzen moet stellen of juist moet de-escaleren. In deze functie heb je verschillende handhavingsbevoegdheden. Je mag reizigers aanspreken, staande houden en bekeuren. Ook ben je bevoegd om personen te fouilleren, voorwerpen in beslag te nemen en personen aan te houden.
