Je wordt begroet met een glimlach en een vertrouwd praatje. Terwijl je helpt met de ochtendzorg, vertelt de cliënt hoe het gisteren is gegaan. Voor jou misschien een klein moment. Voor de cliënt kan het het belangrijkste contact van de dag zijn. Als Helpende Plus ondersteun je cliënten bij hen thuis. Je helpt bij de persoonlijke verzorging en zorgt ervoor dat mensen zo lang mogelijk zelfstandig en vertrouwd in hun eigen omgeving kunnen blijven wonen. Je doet natuurlijk de zorgtaken die bij jouw functie horen, maar jouw rol is veel meer dan dat. Je moedigt cliënten aan om zoveel mogelijk zelf te blijven doen. Je merkt het wanneer iemand achteruitgaat, wanneer er iets verandert of wanneer een cliënt behoefte heeft aan een luisterend oor. Je maakt deel uit van een betrokken thuiszorgteam waarin collega's elkaar helpen en informatie met elkaar delen. Je stemt af met verzorgenden, verpleegkundigen en andere betrokken zorgprofessionals. Je krijgt de vrijheid om je werk zelfstandig uit te voeren, maar kunt altijd overleggen wanneer een situatie daarom vraagt. Dat geeft je de zelfstandigheid die je zoekt, zonder dat je het gevoel hebt dat je er alleen voor staat.
