Steenokkerzeel is een Vlaamse gemeente met ongeveer 12.000 inwoners, gelegen tussen Mechelen, Leuven en Brussel. Ondanks de nabijheid van de nationale luchthaven heeft het dorp zijn landelijke karakter weten te behouden. Duurzaamheid en een hoge leefkwaliteit staan er centraal. Wat de gemeente vooral typeert, is haar levendige sfeer. Dankzij een actief verenigingsleven en tal van gemeentelijke initiatieven bruist Steenokkerzeel van energie, voor jong en oud. Ons team bestaat uit 120 enthousiaste medewerkers. We zijn een klein maar dynamisch team dat zich inzet om elke inwoner zich thuis te laten voelen. Hoofddeskundige Milieu (GOA) Contract onbepaalde duur - voltijds (B4 - B5)

Als Hoofddeskundige Milieu ben je het aanspreekpunt voor milieudossiers. Je behandelt en volgt dossiers op van omgevingsvergunningen tot maatschappelijk gevoelige thema’s zoals PFAS, asbest, fijn stof, geluidshinder, …. Je zorgt ervoor dat vergunningsaanvragen, projecten en beleidsdossiers op een kwaliteitsvolle, correcte en klantgerichte manier worden behandeld. Je ondersteunt collega’s met jouw expertise en zorgt voor kennisdeling binnen het team. Je draagt bij aan beleidsvoorbereiding, werkt samen met diverse partners en helpt mee om een duurzaam milieubeleid te realiseren. Daarnaast neem je de rol op van gemeentelijk omgevingsambtenaar (GOA) en ben je secretaris van de gemeentelijke milieuadviesraad (MAR). Wat ga je doen?

  • Coördineren, opvolgen en adviseren van dossiers inzake omgevingsvergunningen en meldingen m.b.t. ingedeelde inrichtingen en/of activiteiten.
  • Adviseren van het bestuur, management en collega's over milieuthema’s en vraagstukken.
  • Voorbereiden en toelichten van dossiers aan het bestuur en MAR.
  • Uitwerken, implementeren en evalueren van het gemeentelijk milieubeleid.
  • Behandelen van klachten en opvolgen van handhavingsdossiers.
  • Onderhouden van contacten met burgers, verenigingen, studiebureaus, intercommunales en overheidsinstanties.
  • Waken over een correcte toepassing en opvolgen van wijzigingen in wet- en regelgeving eigen aan het vakgebied en deze vertalen naar de dagelijkse werking van de gemeente.
  • Initiëren en begeleiden van projecten en sensibiliseringsacties rond afvalbeheer, bodem, biodiversiteit, geluidshinder, luchtverontreiniging, natuur en water.

Wie ben jij?

  • Je beschikt over een bachelordiploma, bij voorkeur in een relevante richting zoals milieu- en duurzaamheidsmanagement, milieubeheer, Landbouw, Voeding en Milieu, milieucoördinator, milieutechnologie, milieusanering, bio-ingenieurswetenschappen, ecologie of een gelijkwaardige opleiding.
  • Je hebt een grondige kennis van de wet- en regelgeving eigen aan het vakgebied.
  • Ervaring in de advisering/behandeling van omgevingsvergunningen is een vereiste.
  • Ervaring binnen een lokale overheid is een sterke troef.
  • Je bent analytisch sterk en kan complexe dossiers helder adviseren.
  • Je bent klantgericht, communicatief en oplossingsgericht.
  • Je werkt nauwkeurig en bent sterk in plannen en organiseren.
  • Je kan zelfstandig werken in teamverband en prioriteiten stellen in een dynamische omgeving.
  • Je levert een neutraal, onafhankelijk advies. Je vermijdt belangenconflicten of meldt deze tijdig. Dossiers behandel je in alle vertrouwelijkheid.
  • Je bent stressbestendig (omgaan met deadlines) en flexibel.
  • Uitstekende kennis van het Nederlands (moedertaalniveau) is vereist.
