Logo: YERLogo: YER EN NL EN NL Integrated Photonics Process Engineer Challenging role within a dynamic R&D environment Vacancy number: V-20071259 - Eindhoven - Engineering - WO Master - Temp-to-perm The position Together with the team you are responsible for developing, optimizing and managing the fabrication and integration processes used to create photonic integrated circuits based on low loss optical wave guides, ultra-low loss modulators on SiN for quantum and microwave photonics applications. The goal is to ensure that our processes are efficient, cost-effective, and produce high-quality products that meet our customer specifications. Responsibilities In this role, you will develop thin-film phase modulators on SiN waveguides by integrating piezoelectric materials such as PZT and aluminum nitride with low-loss silicon nitride waveguides. Your main tasks will involve: - Develop new material deposition schemes of piezoelectric materials, such as PZT, aluminum nitride and (later) lithium niobate and barium titanate. - Integrate piezoelectric stacks on top of SiN waveguides, characterize their functional device properties. - Support customers implementing (y)our photonics work in their applications. - Collaborate with specialists from UT as well as TNO specialists in Enschede and Eindhoven About the company The organization is a leading R&D institute, founded by the Eindhoven University of Technology (TUe), the University of Twente (UT), the Netherlands organization for applied scientific research TNO, and PhotonDelta. Their mission is to accelerate the uptake of integrated photonics by helping industrial partners close the bridge from research to commercialisation and help to solve some of society's biggest challenges, by working on applications ranging from road safety and health monitoring to energy-efficient data handling and communication to data security. Would you like to be one of the pioneers to build ...
