Per 2029 komen er weer enkele plekken beschikbaar voor een fellowship Wat doet een intensvist? Als intensivist ben je verantwoordelijk voor de zorg van kritisch zieke patiënten op de intensive care (IC), met een focus op orgaanondersteuning, multidisciplinaire samenwerking en begeleiding van patiënten en naasten. Taken omvatten directe zorg, coördinatie van orgaandonaties, nazorg en procedures zoals thuisbeademing. Buiten de IC biedt je als intensivist ondersteuning bij spoedeisende hulp, reanimaties, (spoed)consulten op afdelingen en IC-transporten. Hoe ziet het fellowship eruit? In Nederland kan de opleiding tot intensivist op acht locaties worden gevolgd en duurt minimaal 24 maanden, afhankelijk van je vooropleiding. De opleiding wordt landelijk georganiseerd door het Concilium Intensive Care en gecontroleerd door de Gemeenschappelijke Intensivisten Commissie (GIC). De opleiding is competentiegericht en gebaseerd op het behalen van de IC Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs); een combinatie van eisen van het Landelijk Opleidingsplan en de Europese eindtermen (CoBaTrICE). Naast het behalen van EPA's, is een wetenschappelijke bijdrage en het slagen voor het Europese EDIC -1 examen vereist voor registratie als intensivist in Nederland. De opleidingsvoortgang wordt bijgehouden in een digitaal portfolio.
