Daarnaast beschikken we over een groot schildkliercentrum (Schildkliercentrum Zuyd) en spelen een belangrijke rol in de zorg voor obesitas in onze regio. In zowel het Diabetes Advies Centrum als het Schildkliercentrum Zuyd wordt intensief en prettig samengewerkt met andere disciplines waaronder vaatchirurgie, hoofd-/hals chirurgie, nucleaire geneeskunde en medische psychologie. In het Diabetes Advies Centrum en het Schildkliercentrum Zuyd verlenen verpleegkundig specialisten en physician assistants op een autonome manier zorg in nauwe samenwerking met de artsen. In samenwerking met de Nederlandse Obesitas Kliniek speelt de subvakgroep een belangrijke rol in de zorg voor mensen met obesitas, waarbij deze rol verder uitgewerkt en toekomstbestendig gemaakt wordt. Dankzij onze positie in een regio met een hoge ziektelast, bieden wij een breed en divers palet aan zorg. Dit zorgt ervoor dat wij binnen de algemene interne geneeskunde een grote variatie aan ziektebeelden tegenkomen, wat het werk dynamisch en uitdagend maakt.
