The posting

Als Data Architect & Engineer bouw je mee aan het datafundament van Smulders. Je combineert architectuur met hands-on data engineering en verbindt data uit verschillende systemen tot een betrouwbaar en schaalbaar platform. Zo leg je de basis voor Power BI, analytics en toekomstige AI-toepassingen .

  • Je bouwt samen met de ICT Director de data-architectuur en datastrategie van Smulders uit en bepaalt mee de roadmap voor Data, Analytics & AI.
  • Je ontwerpt een schaalbaar datafundament waarin data uit verschillende bedrijfssystemen, databases en vestigingen betrouwbaar samenkomt.
  • Je ontsluit en integreert data uit onder meer ERP, Finance, HR, Planning, Engineering en Productie en zorgt voor een logische, genormaliseerde datastructuur.
  • Je werkt mee aan een toekomstbestendig hybride datalandschap, waarin cloudoplossingen en on-premise databronnen samenkomen.
  • Je bewaakt de kwaliteit en performantie van datastromen, zodat gebruikers kunnen vertrouwen op consistente, actuele en correcte data.
  • Je zorgt ervoor dat rapportering en analytics kunnen schalen zonder onnodige belasting van operationele bronsystemen.
  • Je ontwikkelt architectuurprincipes en afspraken rond data governance, datakwaliteit, metadata, security en ownership.
  • Je legt mee het technische fundament voor AI en machine learning. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan productiedata en sensordata die we in de toekomst willen inzetten om processen en kwaliteit voorspelbaarder te maken.
  • Je creëert een omgeving waarin teams betrouwbare dataproducten kunnen ontwikkelen en gebruiken.
  • Je werkt nauw samen met Data Analysts, het ERP-team, ICT-collega's, de business en externe partners en vertaalt behoeften naar duurzame technische oplossingen.
  • Je hebt een sterke achtergrond in Data Engineering en bent klaar om architecturale verantwoordelijkheid op te nemen, of je combineert vandaag al beide rollen.
  • Je hebt minstens 3 jaar relevante ervaring als Data Engineer. Voor deze sleutelrol mikken we bij voorkeur op iemand met ongeveer 5 à 6 jaar relevante ervaring binnen data.
  • Je hebt grondige kennis van SQL, relationele databases, datamodellering en database-normalisatie. Data pipelines, ETL/ELT, API-integraties en datawarehousing/lakehouse-concepten hebben weinig geheimen voor jou.
  • Je hebt ervaring met moderne Microsoft-datatechnologie. Denk aan Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake en het Power BI-ecosysteem.
  • Je begrijpt hoe je een data-omgeving opbouwt waarin beschikbaarheid, kwaliteit, betrouwbaarheid, performance en security centraal staan.
  • Je kunt architecturaal en strategisch denken, maar bent tegelijkertijd hands-on genoeg om oplossingen zelf mee te realiseren.
  • Je communiceert vlot met zowel technische collega's als business stakeholders en kunt complexe materie begrijpelijk maken.
  • Je durft richting te bepalen, structuur te creëren en beslissingen vooruit te duwen, maar doet dat vanuit samenwerking.
  • Je werkt zelfstandig, gestructureerd en pragmatisch en neemt ownership over jouw domein.
  • Omdat je over de volledige groep werkt, kun je je professioneel en vlot uitdrukken in het Engels.
