Turn innovative mechanical designs into working prototypes at High Tech Campus Eindhoven Company information Our client is a maritime technology startup based at High Tech Campus Eindhoven, with funding secured. The company is developing a proprietary, parametrically scalable interface framework that connects vessel structures with interchangeable modules. Joining at an early stage, you will play a key role in developing and validating this technology, with substantial technical responsibility and direct involvement in design decisions. Vacancy information As Mechanical Engineer, you are responsible for the mechanical design, structural calculations and physical validation of a proprietary, parametrically scalable interface connecting vessel structures with interchangeable modules. You engineer the positioning, load transfer and rigid locking mechanisms that ensure a precise and reliable connection between the hull and its modules. During the first year, you combine mechanical and structural engineering responsibilities and independently build, assemble and test an in-house Proof of Concept rig. You work closely with the Naval Architect and translate validated designs into precise mechanical interface specifications for selected suppliers. Key responsibilities: - Interface engineering: Design the module positioning and rigid locking mechanisms, including locating pins, actuators, structural bearing surfaces and associated components. - Mechanical and structural validation: Define and calculate design loads, tolerance limits and load distribution, including the effects of hull torsion and dynamic marine loads.
