Onze klant is een handelsonderneming met decennialange ervaring in de internationale distributie van bouwmaterialen en aanverwante grondstoffen. Vanuit een Belgische uitvalsbasis coördineert het bedrijf complexe handelsstromen naar markten in opkomende regio's wereldwijd, met alle bijhorende logistieke en financiële complexiteit. Het team telt een dertigtal medewerkers, wat zorgt voor korte communicatielijnen en een omgeving waar je snel een volledig beeld krijgt van hoe een internationaal handelsbedrijf financieel en operationeel in elkaar zit.

Als Junior Controller kom je terecht in een financiële functie met reële inhoud. Je wordt begeleid door ervaren collega's en hebt vanaf het begin zicht op het volledige plaatje, van kwartaalcijfers tot valutatransacties.

Jouw rol als Junior Controller:

  • Je werkt mee aan de opmaak van de kwartaalafsluitingen, inclusief balans en resultatenrekening. Zo bouw je stap voor stap technische kennis op in een internationale context.
  • Je analyseert de achterliggende cijfers bij budgetopvolging en brengt afwijkingen op kostenniveau helder in kaart. Die rapportering gaat rechtstreeks naar de betrokken collega's.
  • Je ondersteunt bij de voorbereiding van regelgevende rapportering en periodieke audits, onder meer door documentatie op te stellen en gegevens correct samen te brengen.
  • Samen met de CFO bekijk je de planning van financiële transacties en de afdekking van valutarisico's (voornamelijk USD). Een goede leerschool voor wie wil begrijpen hoe internationale handelsrisico's financieel beheerd worden.
  • Je documenteert en optimaliseert interne processen en boekhoudkundig beleid, zodat de financiële werking van de organisatie transparanter en robuuster wordt naarmate het bedrijf groeit.

Jouw achtergrond als Junior Controller:

  • Een afgeronde bachelor of master in een economische richting vormt jouw stevige theoretische fundament om deze materie vlot op te pikken.
  • Idealiter breng je al wat werkervaring of een achtergrond in boekhouding/finance mee, ervaring in audit is zeker mooi meegenomen.
  • Uitgebreide datasets in Excel schrikken jou niet af en je bent in staat om nieuwe programma's zoals Navision of Power BI snel te omarmen.
