Dan is de commissie bezwaarschriften een mooie manier om die betrokkenheid in te zetten voor inwoners die bezwaarschriften indienen bij de gemeente. De gemeente Middelburg is namelijk op zoek naar twee leden van de onafhankelijke Commissie bezwaarschriften. Informatie De Commissie bezwaarschriften is een onafhankelijke en extern samengestelde commissie. De leden worden benoemd voor een periode van vier jaar, met de mogelijkheid van een eenmalige verlenging van vier jaar. De Commissie bezwaarschriften vergadert eenmaal per maand op donderdagmiddag vanaf 16.00 uur en behandelt bezwaarschriften op het gebied van onder meer de Omgevingswet, Algemene plaatselijke verordening, Wet maatschappelijke ondersteuning, Verkeers-wetgeving en de Wet basisregistratie personen. Uitgezonderd zijn bezwaarschriften over gemeentelijke belastingen en de Participatiewet. De behandeling van bezwaarschriften door de Commissie bezwaarschriften bestaat onder meer uit het voorbereiden en houden van hoorzittingen en het uitbrengen van advies over het besluit dat het bestuursorgaan op het bezwaarschrift dient te nemen. De commissie bestaat altijd uit twee leden en een voorzitter. De commissie wordt ondersteund door een ambtelijk secretaris. Bezwaardossiers worden digitaal beschikbaar gesteld.
