Combineer werken en leren binnen een ervaren kinderdiabetesteam en maak het verschil voor kinderen met diabetes en hun gezinnen. Jij als kinderdiabetesverpleegkundige in opleiding Als kinderdiabetesverpleegkundige in opleiding krijg je de kans om je verder te specialiseren binnen een vakgebied dat volop in beweging is. Onder begeleiding van ervaren kinderdiabetesverpleegkundigen en artsen leer je kinderen van 0 tot 18 jaar met diabetes mellitus en hun ouders/verzorgers te begeleiden in het omgaan met deze chronische aandoening. Stap voor stap ontwikkel je je tot een zelfstandig kinderdiabetesverpleegkundige. Je leert voorlichting, instructies en educatie te geven en gezinnen te ondersteunen bij het vergroten van hun zelfredzaamheid. Daarbij heb je niet alleen aandacht voor de medische zorg, maar ook voor de impact die diabetes heeft op het kind, het gezin en hun omgeving. Met jouw betrokkenheid en communicatieve vaardigheden bouw je aan een vertrouwensband met kinderen, ouders en andere betrokken zorgverleners. Tijdens je opleiding doe je ervaring op binnen een multidisciplinair team en krijg je geleidelijk meer verantwoordelijkheid. Ook maak je kennis met moderne diabetestechnologieën, zoals sensoren en insulinepompen, die een belangrijke rol spelen binnen de kinderdiabeteszorg. Zo ontwikkel je je tot een zelfstandige kinderdiabetesverpleegkundige die een belangrijke bijdrage levert aan de zorg en begeleiding van kinderen met diabetes en hun gezinnen. Het opleidingstraject Na een inwerkperiode start je met de opleiding tot diabetesverpleegkundige aan de Hogeschool Utrecht. Deze opleiding duurt één jaar en bestaat uit één lesdag per week.
