Zo zorg je er onder andere voor dat plannen voor woningbouw sneller worden omgezet in resultaten. Omschrijving van de opdrachtgever: De gemeente Barneveld groeit, en dat zie je overal terug. De gemeenteraad wil groeien naar 80.000 tot 85.000 inwoners in 2040. Met de woondeal in de regio Foodvalley komen er tussen 2022 en 2030 ongeveer 5.400 woningen bij, en tot 2040 in totaal circa 7.000 woningen. Daarnaast breidt de gemeente bedrijventerreinen uit, komen er nieuwe maatschappelijke voorzieningen en is er nieuwe infrastructuur nodig. De Omgevingsvisie 2040 geeft hierbij de richting aan. Gebiedsontwikkeling is voor Barneveld niets nieuws. Wat nu verandert, is dat de woningbouw sneller moet. Tegelijk wordt de opgave complexer door onder andere netcongestie, ecologie en stikstof. Daarom kiest de gemeente voor een meer integrale aanpak en wil ze verder professionaliseren. Om de uitvoerings- en realisatiekracht te versterken, bouwt Barneveld aan een multiprojectorganisatie die zich richt op de ontwikkelopgave. De afgelopen jaren heeft de organisatie al belangrijke stappen gezet. Er is een nieuwe organisatiestructuur, een duidelijke sturingsfilosofie en er zijn betere instrumenten voor planning, sturing en samenwerking. De volgende stap is vooral het consequent toepassen van wat er al ligt. Een organisatiebrede veranderaanpak richt zich op leiderschap, eigenaarschap, integraal management en professionele samenwerking.
