Orionis Biosciences is een ambitieus biotechbedrijf dat innovatieve strategieën ontwikkelt in de strijd tegen kanker. Als technologie-gedreven speler combineren we geavanceerde small molecule screeningplatformen met unieke eiwittechnologiesystemen om nieuwe geneesmiddelen te ontwikkelen. Sinds onze oprichting in 2015 zijn we actief in Gent (Eiland Zwijnaarde) en Boston (VS). Ter versterking van ons Chemical Biology-team in Gent zoeken we een gedreven Laboratoriumtechnoloog (Research Associate). Zowel net afgestudeerden als collega’s mét ervaring in moleculaire biologie en celkweek komen in aanmerking.

Jouw rol?

Als Research Associate ben je actief betrokken bij diverse onderzoeksprojecten rond small molecule screening, zowel intern als in samenwerking met externe partners. Je bent betrokken bij de verschillende aspecten van het onderzoek en past een brede waaier aan technieken toe. Dit doe je in nauwe samenwerking en overleg met jouw collega’s. Jouw verantwoordelijkheden zijn o.a.:

  • Het uitvoeren van experimenteel werk gaande van plasmied clonering tot high-throughput compound screening.
  • Het zelfstandig verwerken en analyseren van data.
  • Het zorgvuldig documenteren van experimenten, resultaten en bijhorende taken.
  • Samenwerken en overleggen met jouw collega’s om een correcte planning te bekomen.

Jouw profiel?

  • Je hebt een (professioneel) bachelordiploma behaald in biochemische, biomedische of biotechnologische laboratoriumtechnieken, of bent gelijkwaardig door ervaring.
  • Je hebt kennis van (en bij voorkeur praktische ervaring met) moleculair biologische- en celkweektechnieken (vb. PCR, plasmied clonering en isolatie, cel-transfectie, western blotting, flow cytometrie, ...). Studeer je net af? Ook dan ben je welkom bij ons!
  • Je werkt nauwkeurig, met oog voor detail.
  • Je vindt het belangrijk kwaliteitsvol werk af te leveren.
  • Je bent oplossingsgericht en hebt een goed analytisch inzicht.
  • Je kan zelfstandig werken, maar werkt ook graag in een team.
  • Je kan je vlot uitdrukken in het Engels, zowel mondeling als geschreven.
  • Je bent flexibel, leergierig en enthousiast om in een dynamische omgeving te werken
