- Landen 23 september 2026 - Door: Harry Droppert Stichting Stéphanos is een reformatorische stichting die hulp biedt aan de meest kwetsbaren in Malawi en Zambia: (wees-)kinderen en de hen omringende gemeenschappen, zoals familie en dorpsgenoten. In Malawi ligt de focus op diaconaal en ontwikkelingswerk en onderwijs, met de Bijbel in de hand. Het doel is het bevorderen van zelfstandigheid en het voorkomen van langdurige afhankelijkheid. Het werk in Zambia is in hoofdzaak gericht op evangelisatie, Bijbels onderwijs en alfabetisering. Stéphanos is ongeveer 40 jaar geleden ontstaan vanuit de regio Staphorst/Genemuiden, vanuit wat nu de Hersteld Hervormde Kerk is. Inmiddels wordt Stéphanos gedragen door de breedte van de reformatorische achterban. Al ons werk is gebaseerd op de Bijbel, in de lijn van de Drie Formulieren van Enigheid. Vanuit deze grondslag willen wij ons werk in Afrika op een betrokken, verantwoordelijke en toekomstgerichte wijze voortzetten. Gezocht: Leden voor de Raad van Toezicht M/V Vanwege ons rooster van aftreden en het bereiken van de maximale zittingstermijn zijn wij op zoek naar betrokken en enthousiaste leden voor de Raad van Toezicht (RvT). De RvT houdt toezicht op het beleid en de algemene gang van zaken binnen de stichting en denkt vanuit een brede blik mee over de strategie, ontwikkeling en toekomst van Stéphanos. Een RvT-lid kan maximaal 3 keer 4 jaar dienen. Wie zoeken wij? Wij zoeken mensen die: - Vanuit hun christelijke overtuiging en betrokkenheid bij het werk van Stéphanos willen bijdragen aan deskundig, onafhankelijk en betrokken toezicht. - Zijn geworteld in de reformatorische traditie en lid van één van de reformatorische kerken. - Een goede beheersing hebben van de Engelse taal in woord en geschrift.
