Op De Kring werk je vanuit samen leren en samen leven, met oog voor ieder kind. Over Basisschool De Kring De Kring is een openbare basisschool aan de rand van het centrum van Haarlem, vlak bij het Spaarne. Onze leerlingen komen uit diverse wijken van de stad. In twee gebouwen, Kring 1 en Kring 2, bieden we onderwijs aan circa 550 leerlingen van 4 t/m 12 jaar. Op De Kring geloven we dat kinderen het best leren in een omgeving waar ze zichzelf kunnen zijn en hun talenten kunnen ontdekken. Onze kernwaarden Plezier, Verbinding, Groei & Ontwikkeling zie je terug in de sfeer op school, in de samenwerking met elkaar en in de manier waarop we kinderen begeleiden. Onze onderwijsvisie Bij De Kring werken we vanuit een duidelijke pedagogische opdracht: samen leren, samen leven, met oog voor het individu en ruimte voor verschillen. We zijn een Vreedzame School, waar kinderen leren verantwoordelijkheid te nemen, conflicten positief op te lossen en open te staan voor elkaar. We bieden eigentijds onderwijs waarin zelfstandigheid, eigenaarschap en samenwerking centraal staan . Leerlingen worden gestimuleerd om nieuwsgierig te zijn, zelfstandig te denken en actief bij te dragen aan hun leerproces. Daarbij kijken we breed naar wat kinderen nodig hebben. Naast de basisvaardigheden is er veel aandacht voor creativiteit, drama, digitale geletterdheid, bewegingsonderwijs en leesplezier. Voor leerlingen die meer uitdaging nodig hebben, zijn er verrijkingsmogelijkheden, zoals de Kangoeroegroep en de Mikadoklas.
