Bij De Odyssee zien we leren als een avontuurlijke reis, waarin onze leerlingen steeds nieuwe werelden ontdekken. Geïnspireerd door het verhaal van Odysseus, maken zij hun eigen avonturen, met zowel hoogte- als dieptepunten, die hen begeleiden in hun persoonlijke groei. In ons moderne schoolgebouw in Amsterdam, in de wijk De Aker, verwelkomen wij 450 leerlingen. Wij geloven in de kracht van zelfontdekking: leren door te ervaren en te doen. Onze leerlingen verkennen de wereld om zich heen, werken met actuele thema's en leren door zelf onderzoek te doen en de juiste vragen te stellen. Ons ontwikkelingsgerichte onderwijs moedigt kinderen aan hun eigen leerroute te volgen, met thematische benaderingen voor bijna alle vakken. We bieden een veilige, inspirerende omgeving waarin leerlingen hun nieuwsgierigheid en zelfstandigheid kunnen ontwikkelen, en zich voorbereiden op hun toekomst. De Odyssee is onderdeel van AMOS (Amsterdamse Oecumenische Scholengroep). AMOS heeft de ambitie om haar 7.400 leerlingen het best mogelijke onderwijs te bieden, toegesneden op de behoefte van elk individueel kind. Met ruim 765 collega's op 28 scholen (32 locaties) in Amsterdam en Diemen wordt er elke dag weer gewerkt aan het handen en voeten geven aan deze ambitie.
