De naam is in 2014 gewijzigd in "Tamarschool, school met de Bijbel" en de school is toen verdergegaan onder het bestuur Stichting School met de Bijbel. Op de Tamarschool wordt Bijbelgetrouw onderwijs gegeven. De leerkrachten doen hun werk bewust vanuit hun persoonlijke relatie met God en proberen in leer en in leven het christelijke leven handen en voeten te geven op school. "Tamar" is overigens het Hebreeuwse woord voor 'palmboom', die zie je terug in ons logo. In de Bijbel staat een palmboom symbool voor veiligheid (de boom biedt bescherming door de schaduw), stabiliteit (in elke storm blijft een palmboom staan) en voor vruchtbaarheid (een palmboom draagt altijd vrucht). Hiermee wil de naam uitdrukken dat de school een veilige en stabiele plek is voor kinderen, waar zij zich voorspoedig kunnen ontwikkelen (vrucht kunnen dragen) en stevig in de maatschappij kunnen staan.
