Het nieuwe lid van de Raad van Toezicht (RvT) wordt tevens voorzitter van de commissie Kwaliteit, Onderwijs en Governance. De vacature ontstaat doordat de huidige voorzitter van de commissie Kwaliteit, Onderwijs en Governance een nieuwe functie heeft aanvaard die niet verenigbaar is met het het lidmaatschap van de Raad van Toezicht, gelet op de onafhankelijkheidsvereisten van de Governancecode Funderend Onderwijs. Ook in deze wervings- en benoemingsprocedure worden de uitgangspunten en vereisten van deze code gevolgd. We zoeken een toezichthouder die ruime kennis en ervaring heeft met onderwijs en onderwijskwaliteit en deze kan verbinden met strategisch en bestuurlijk inzicht. De kandidaat heeft oog voor de maatschappelijke context waarin Esprit Scholen opereert en kan ontwikkelingen in onderwijs en samenleving vertalen naar relevante toezichtsvragen. De benoeming geldt voor een periode van vier jaar, met de mogelijkheid van één herbenoeming voor opnieuw vier jaar. Over Esprit Scholen Esprit Scholen is een eigentijdse, innovatieve en internationaal georiënteerde onderwijsorganisatie in Amsterdam en omgeving. Esprit staat voor energie, dynamiek en bezieling en kiest voor een toekomstgerichte aanpak van onderwijs, in open verbinding met de wereld. Ontwikkeling van leerlingen en medewerkers staat daarbij centraal. Esprit bestaat uit vijftien scholen voor primair en voortgezet onderwijs.
