Softwareontwikkeling verandert sneller dan ooit tevoren. AI hertekent de manier waarop ontwikkelaars software ontwerpen, schrijven, reviewen en opleveren. Teams die hun platformstrategie op orde hebben, zullen aanzienlijk sneller vooruitgaan dan teams die dat niet hebben. We zijn op zoek naar de persoon die dit werk hier zal leiden en mee vormgeven.

Het Developer Platform-team van Telenet is op zoek naar een Manager die vorm geeft aan de fundamenten waarop onze engineers elke dag bouwen: onze CI/CD-pipelines en developer tooling, ons intern developer portal en de bijbehorende golden paths, evenals onze MCP- en AI-ondersteunde ontwikkelingsmogelijkheden.

Als Manager van het Developer Platform-team bepaal je de visie, bouw en leid je het team dat onze visie op de Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) realiseert, en ben je verantwoordelijk voor de roadmap en het budget die daarbij horen. Je werkt nauw samen met architectuur, tech leads, engineering management en cyber security. Daarnaast heb je een directe impact op de manier waarop onze volledige engineeringorganisatie de komende jaren software ontwikkelt.

Jouw verantwoordelijkheden als Developer Platform Manager

  • Je beheert het Developer Platform als een product: je bepaalt de visie en roadmap op basis van de werkelijke behoeften van onze engineers, meet de adoptie, verzamelt feedback en bouwt oplossingen af die onvoldoende waarde opleveren.
  • Je stuurt ons interne developerportaal en de golden paths aan, zodat teams vlot van idee naar productie kunnen gaan zonder tickets te moeten indienen.
  • Je bepaalt de richting rond AI-ondersteunde softwareontwikkeling: MCP-servers, agentic tooling en de veilige en effectieve adoptie van AI gedurende de volledige softwareontwikkelingscyclus (SDLC).
  • Je leidt, coacht en ontwikkelt een team van platform engineers. Daarnaast ben je verantwoordelijk voor aanwerving, performance management en retentie, en creëer je de juiste omstandigheden zodat zij optimaal kunnen presteren.
  • Je beheert het budget van het team en neemt kostbewuste beslissingen rond tooling, licenties en clouduitgaven.
  • Je zorgt ervoor dat betrouwbaarheid, security en compliance van bij de start in het platform ingebouwd zijn, in plaats van achteraf toegevoegd te worden. Daarnaast rapporteer je helder aan het management over de gezondheid van het platform, de adoptiegraad en de impact ervan.
  • Je vormt de brug tussen wat developers nodig hebben en wat de organisatie verwacht, en gaat constructief in dialoog wanneer die belangen niet volledig op elkaar aansluiten.
  • Je vertegenwoordigt het platform binnen de organisatie: je promoot het actief, begeleidt teams bij de onboarding en overtuigt ook sceptici van de meerwaarde ervan.

Jouw profiel als Developer Platform Manager

  • Je beschikt over een sterke achtergrond in engineering, architectuur of software delivery en begrijpt hoe moderne softwareontwikkeling en -oplevering in de praktijk werken.
  • Je hebt aantoonbare ervaring met het leiden van engineeringteams, inclusief people management, rekrutering en coaching. Ook een sterke Tech Lead die klaar is voor de volgende stap in zijn of haar carrière komt zeker in aanmerking.
  • Je hebt hands-on ervaring met AI-tools, CI/CD-platformen, versiebeheerprocessen, containerisatie en cloudinfrastructuur. Daarnaast heb je een sterke interesse in AI-ondersteunde ontwikkeling, MCP (Model Context Protocol) en agentic tooling binnen een engineeringomgeving.
  • Je hebt een productgerichte mindset: je denkt vanuit gebruikers, adoptie en resultaten, eerder dan vanuit het aantal afgehandelde tickets.
  • Je voelt je comfortabel bij het beheren van een budget en kunt investeringsbeslissingen onderbouwen en verantwoorden.
  • Je beschikt over sterke communicatieve vaardigheden en kunt moeiteloos schakelen tussen diepgaande technische discussies en gesprekken op directie- of managementniveau.
  • Je bent pragmatisch en kunt goed omgaan met ambiguïteit, omdat dit domein snel evolueert en prioriteiten regelmatig kunnen verschuiven. Bovendien krijg je er oprecht energie van om andere engineers productiever en succesvoller te maken.
