Als Mechanical Design Engineer speel je een belangrijke rol in het ontwikkelen van robuuste, hoogwaardige mechanische oplossingen voor onze embedded AI-hardware. Als onderdeel van ons internationale team ga je:

  • Mechanische behuizingen en interne lay-outs voor elektronische producten ontwerpen en ontwikkelen.
  • Een grondige kennis toepassen van tolerance stack-up analysis en GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) om een probleemloze mechanische assemblage, een goede thermische aansluiting en betrouwbare productietoleranties te garanderen.
  • Thermische componenten zoals heatsinks, ventilatoren en thermische interfacematerialen (TIM) selecteren en integreren.
  • Gedetailleerde 3D-CAD-modellen, 2D-tekeningen en stuklijsten (BOM’s) maken voor prototyping en productie.
  • Ontwerpen valideren en optimaliseren door middel van praktische tests, iteraties en continue verbetering.
  • Ontwerpbeoordelingen begeleiden en ondersteuning bieden bij testen voor certificering, betrouwbaarheid en bescherming tegen omgevingsinvloeden.
  • Bijdragen aan duurzame productontwikkeling door rekening te houden met materiaalkeuze, energie-efficiëntie en ontwerpen met het oog op een lange levensduur en recyclebaarheid.
  • Rechtstreeks samenwerken met leveranciers, vooral tijdens het prototypingproces, om overeenstemming te bereiken over de maakbaarheid van het ontwerp, materiaalkeuze en productieprocessen.
  • Nauw samenwerken met elektronica-engineers, productdesigners en internationale leveranciers om een naadloze integratie van het volledige systeem te garanderen.
  • Een masterdiploma in mechanical engineering or product design of een vergelijkbare richting.
  • Minimaal 3 jaar ervaring in mechanisch ontwerp, bij voorkeur binnen elektronica, embedded systemen of industriële/consumentenproducten.
  • Ervaring met 3D-CAD-software, zoals Fusion 360, Onshape, SolidWorks of Siemens NX.
  • Een grondige kennis van principes voor mechanisch ontwerp, materialen, toleranties en best practices op het gebied van Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • Kennis van de integratie van elektronica, ontwerpen volgens IP- en EMI-vereisten en werken met omgevingsbeperkingen.
  • Je voelt je comfortabel bij laboratoriumtests en validatie in de praktijk.
  • Een hands-onmentaliteit en ervaring met prototyping en iteratief ontwerpen.
  • Sterke communicatieve vaardigheden en een samenwerkingsgerichte, oplossingsgerichte aanpak.
  • Vloeiende beheersing van het Engels; kennis van het Nederlands is een pluspunt.
