The posting

Sinds 1964 zijn wij een betrouwbare partner van de Belgische marine. Met een team van 130 scheepswerktuigkundigen en maritieme specialisten bieden wij vanuit Zeebrugge dagelijks onderhoud, geplande revisies en dringende herstellingen voor de Belgische en Nederlandse marinevloten, met een bijzondere focus op mijnenjagers.

Momenteel zijn wij op zoek naar een mechanieker om ons team op onze locatie in Zeebrugge te versterken.

Jouw uitdaging: In deze rol krijg je de kans om deel uit te maken van een breed scala aan onderhouds-, herstellings- en snelle interventieactiviteiten, zowel op locatie als aan boord van schepen. Je zal werken binnen onze afdeling scheepsmechanica en hydraulica op de Marinebasis in Zeebrugge, met de focus op het onderhouden en inspecteren van:

  • Hydraulische systemen: pompen, dekkranen, ventielen en regelkleppen.
  • Mechanische systemen: hoofdmotoren, tandwielkasten, stuwblokken, verstelunits voor schroefbladen en schroefassen.
  • Dieselmotoren en generatoren.
  • Filters en transportsystemen: brandstoffilters, brandstofwater-afscheiders.
  • Mobiele apparatuur: persluchtcompressoren, noodbrandbluspompen en buitenboordmotoren.
  • Reparatie en revisie van diverse motoren, kleppen en componenten aan boord van schepen.
  • Daarnaast zal je waar nodig ondersteuning bieden aan andere afdelingen om gezamenlijk onze deadlines te halen.

Tijdens de inwerkperiode leer je stap voor stap hoe je de verschillende onderhoudsactiviteiten zelfstandig of in teamverband kunt uitvoeren. Naarmate je meer ervaring opdoet, krijg je steeds meer verantwoordelijkheid.

Wij zoeken iemand die:

  • Passie heeft voor de maritieme wereld en zich thuis voelt tussen motoren, hydraulica en bijbehorende systemen.
  • Een sterke theoretische basis heeft en deze snel in de praktijk kan toepassen.
  • Bereid is om veiligheidsopleidingen te volgen om aan alle veiligheidsnormen te voldoen.
  • Klaar is om opgeleid te worden voor apparatuur op de nieuwe mijnenjagers van de Belgische en Nederlandse marine, inclusief de nieuwste dronetoepassingen.
  • Beschikt over een basisdiploma BSO of TSO (A2) in automechanica (dieselmotoren) of hydraulica, of gelijkwaardige ervaring.
  • Communicatief, flexibel, leergierig en gemotiveerd is en niet terugdeinst voor nieuwe uitdagingen.
  • Een natuurlijke probleemoplosser is.
