The posting

Als medewerker communicatie, PR en events ben je verantwoordelijk voor het ontwikkelen, coördineren en uitvoeren van de interne en externe communicatie van het Departement Burgerlijke Bouwkunde. De functie draagt bij aan de zichtbaarheid, reputatie en positionering van het departement bij diverse doelgroepen (studenten, onderzoekers, partners, alumni en brede publiek).Je kerntaken en verantwoordelijkheden zijn als volgt:

  1. Communicatiestrategie en uitvoeringIn kaart brengen van communicatiebehoeften, vertalen naar concrete communicatieacties en bijdragen aan de ontwikkeling en uitvoering van communicatie- en PR-initiatieven die aansluiten bij de doelstellingen van het departement en van KU Leuven. Opstellen van communicatieplannen voor campagnes, onderzoeksresultaten, evenementen en onderwijsinitiatieven. Bewaken van de huisstijl en consistente branding.
  2. Contentcreatie en redactieSchrijven, redigeren en publiceren van content voor verschillende kanalen (website, nieuwsbrieven, sociale media, persberichten, brochures). Vertalen van complexe wetenschappelijke informatie naar toegankelijke en aantrekkelijke communicatie voor diverse doelgroepen. Beheer en actualisatie van de departementswebsite.
  3. Media en externe relatiesOpsporen, stimuleren en benutten van kansen om de expertise, realisaties en verhalen van medewerkers en onderzoekers van het departement zichtbaar te maken voor interne en externe doelgroepen, in samenwerking met de Dienst Mediarelaties en Interne Communicatie. Assisteren bij het verzorgen van perscommunicatie (persberichten, interviews, mediaverzoeken). Ondersteunen van onderzoekers bij communicatie rond onderzoeksresultaten.
  4. Digitale communicatie en sociale mediaBeheer en optimalisatie van socialmediakanalen (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, etc.). Monitoren van bereik, engagement en impact van communicatie-acties. Toepassen van SEO- en online communicatietechnieken.
  5. Evenementen en publiekswerkingOrganiseren of ondersteunen van evenementen (seminaries, infosessies, open dagen, alumni-events). Coördineren van promotie en communicatie rond deze activiteiten.
  6. Interne communicatieFaciliteren van interne informatiestromen binnen het departement. Ondersteunen van management en onderzoeksgroepen in hun communicatiebehoeften.
  7. Samenwerking en afstemmingNauw samenwerken met teams en diensten binnen KU Leuven die ook actief zijn bij interne en externe communicatie. Hecht en effectief netwerk behouden met met andere onderzoeksgroepen, departementen, faculteiten en externe partners.

Opleiding en ervaringJe hebt een bachelordiploma, in het domein van communicatie of in een eerder technische richting (vb Bouwkunde), of bent gelijkwaardig door ervaring. Heb je een eerder technische of wetenschappelijke achtergrond, dan heb je een uitgesproken interesse in communicatie en publiekswerking. Heb je een communicatie-, marketing- of journalistieke achtergrond, dan heb je affiniteit met wetenschap, technologie en onderzoek. De brug kunnen slaan tussen inhoudelijke expertise en heldere communicatie is een belangrijke troef.Je hebt bij voorkeur 2 tot 5 jaar relevante professionele ervaring, idealiter in een academische, onderzoeks- of innovatieomgeving.

Kennis en vaardigheden

  1. CommunicatievaardighedenUitstekende schriftelijke en mondelinge vaardigheden in het Nederlands en Engels. Sterk in storytelling en het vertalen van complexe inhoud naar begrijpelijke boodschappen.
  2. Digitale vaardighedenErvaring met contentmanagementsystemen (CMS). Kennis van social media management en analysetools. Basiskennis van grafische tools (bv. Canva, Adobe) is een plus.
  3. Organisatorische vaardighedenSterk in planning, projectmanagement en multitasking. Vermogen om zelfstandig te werken én verschillende stakeholders te betrekken.
  4. Analytisch vermogenIn staat om communicatieresultaten te meten en bij te sturen. Data-gedreven aanpak van communicatie.
  5. Persoonlijke competentiesProactief en ondernemend. Creatief en innovatief in communicatieaanpak. Teamgericht met sterke samenwerkingsvaardigheden. Flexibel en stressbestendig. Oog voor detail en kwaliteit. Discreet en betrouwbaar in omgang met informatie.
  6. Attitude en motivatieInteresse in academische context en onderzoekscommunicatie. Engagement voor de waarden en missie van KU Leuven. Continu willen bijleren en inspelen op nieuwe communicatietrends.
