The posting

Stel je voor: een complete productielijn ter waarde van enkele miljoenen euro's moet over zee naar de andere kant van de wereld. Tijdens de reis krijgt de lading te maken met schokken, temperatuurverschillen, vocht en ruwe weersomstandigheden. Dan moet je erop kunnen vertrouwen dat alles perfect is verpakt. Dat is precies waar jij een belangrijke rol in speelt.

Als Medewerker Exportverpakking zorg je er samen met jouw collega's voor dat industriële machines, installaties en andere waardevolle goederen veilig en onbeschadigd op hun bestemming aankomen. Geen opdracht is hetzelfde. De ene dag bouw je een maatwerk houten exportkist voor een grote machine, de andere dag zet je een complete installatie vast in een container of werk je op locatie bij een klant aan een bijzonder project.

Iedere ochtend verdeel je samen met het team de werkzaamheden. Meestal werk je met een vaste collega aan een project. Aan de hand van de werkopdracht bepaal je hoe de goederen het beste verpakt worden. Je houdt rekening met het transportmiddel, het gewicht, het zwaartepunt en de omstandigheden tijdens de reis. Vervolgens zorg je ervoor dat alles stevig wordt vastgezet en optimaal beschermd is.

Je werkzaamheden bestaan onder andere uit:

- het bouwen van maatwerk houten exportkisten, vloeren, pallets en transportbokken; - het vastzetten en beschermen van machines en industriële installaties; - het laden, stuwen en zekeren van goederen in containers; - het aanbrengen van beschermende materialen, zoals krimpfolie en vochtwerende verpakkingen; - het maken van houten constructies wanneer deze niet vooraf door de werkplaats zijn geproduceerd.

Dit is een specialistisch vak dat je vooral in de praktijk leert. Daarom werk je dagelijks samen met ervaren collega's die jou alle kneepjes van het vak leren. Zo ontwikkel je jezelf stap voor stap tot een zelfstandig exportverpakker.
