De stad Gent en de gemeente Destelbergen werken voor hun afvalophaling en -verwerking samen in de intercommunale IVAGO. IVAGO staat voor Intergemeentelijke Vereniging voor Afvalbeheer in Gent en Omstreken, en is een publieke intercommunale.

Wat doen we?

  • Als ISO 9001 (kwaliteit)- en ISO 14001 (milieu)-gecertificeerd bedrijf, zorgen we voor de selectieve inzameling van het huisvuil van de 281.000 inwoners van Gent en Destelbergen, maar voeren we ook een toekomstgericht afvalbeleid.
  • Op onze zes recyclageparken ontvangen we elk jaar 300.000 bezoekers. Op onze parken kan je tot meer dan 40 verschillende afvalsoorten aanbieden.
  • Ruim 100 medewerkers van de Dienst Openbare Reiniging houden, met behulp van moderne veegmachines, de stad proper.
  • De cel Bedrijfsafval levert maatwerk en service aan ruim 4.000 privéklanten. Van het café om de hoek, het restaurant in het centrum of een kantoor in een randgemeente tot grote onderwijsinstellingen en ziekenhuizen.

Jobomschrijving

Zorg jij mee voor een proper en leefbaar GENT?

IVAGO zoekt gemotiveerde milieuwerkers met rijbewijs C die dagelijks bijdragen aan een nette omgeving. Je haalt als milieuwerker samen met jouw collega's afval op of houdt het openbaar domein proper, met respect voor de geldende regels rond veiligheid, milieu en kwaliteit. Afhankelijk van de planning werk je soms als chauffeur van de vrachtwagen en soms als afvalophaler achteraan op de vrachtwagen.

Wat houdt de job in?

  • Inzamelen van huishoudelijk en selectief afval
  • Uitvoeren van veegplannen en ruimen van sluikstorten
  • Bezorgen, omwisselen en afvoeren van containers
  • Plaatsen van signalisatieborden en ledigen van afvalkorven
  • Correct afrekenen bij betalende klanten
  • Rapporteren van afwijkingen en technische problemen

Je werkt voor de inzameling in een uurrooster van 7u00 tot 17u00 op maandag, dinsdag, donderdag en vrijdag.

  • Je werkt veilig, nauwkeurig en klantgericht
  • Je begeleidt en motiveert je collega-milieuwerkers
  • Je communiceert vlot met de planner en rapporteert correct
  • Je laat je niet afleiden tijdens het werk en volgt alle IVAGO-procedures
  • Je zorgt voor een nette cabine en werkplek, en voert dagelijks voertuigcontrole uit
