Core responsibilities - Conduct on-site and remote inspections of vessels, cargo, and maritime equipment after incidents. - Analyze damage causes (e.g., collision, grounding, weather, mechanical failure) and document findings. - Estimate repair costs, validate invoices/quotes, and recommend reserves and settlement amounts. - Collect evidence (photos, statements, logs, maintenance records) and prepare clear expert reports. - Coordinate with insurers, brokers, shipyards, surveyors, legal parties, and authorities. - Support claim negotiations and provide technical input on coverage, liability, and recovery options. - Monitor timelines, ensure accurate case administration, and maintain audit-ready documentation.
